About the adventure

The talk of the streets and taverns has all been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who's ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied. When they finally succumb, they can't be raised—and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. Temples and scholars of divine magic are at a loss to explain a curse that has affected the entire region, and possibly the entire world. In the land of Chult, overgrown with jungle, a forgotten temple may hold the secret to undoing the curse...

About me

I like to host games with an emphasis on humor, drama, and out-of-the-ordinary problems to be solved. I'm very flexible in terms of games and style. Do you wanna have a laser rifle in Lord of the Rings? We can figure something out.

Creating your character

Give me a lot of background on your PC with several connections to characters, factions, and locations I can use for dramatic hooks.

What Jacob brings to the table

Complex characters, dynamic and challenging combat, rich narration, a laid back and friendly table

Homebrew rules

Generally I am down for whatever if it isn't obviously gamebreaking, cringe, and can fit into the story and world. 99 times out of a hundred I will say yes to your idea. Permitted homebrew examples: All the classes/subclasses from Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt Benjamin Huffman's The Pugilist A.M. Black's The Scholar laserllama's The Warlord I also have four homebrew races available for players to pick from that will be present in this world. EXTRA ATTACK OVERLAP FIX: If playing a Martial character that has unlocked Extra Attack, if you multiclass into another Martial class with Extra Attack, at that 5th level you instead increase your hit points twice that level using the class' hit dice and CON modifier. For example, If you were a 5th level fighter and multiclassed into 5 levels of Barbarian, at the 5th level of Barbarian you would add 1d12+CON to your maximum hit points, twice. MINIMUM HIT POINT INCREASE: When you level up, when rolling for your new max hit points, if you roll below average on the hit die (For example the average of a fighter's 1d10 is a 6), you take the average+CON. UNIVERSAL SPELLCASTING MODIFIER: If you are multiclassed into two spellcasting classes that use different ability modifiers for their spells, just use the one for the class you took at first level. NO ABILITY SCORE MULTICLASSING PREREQUISITES EXCHANGING WEAPON PROFICIENCY: If your race gives you weapon proficiencies, or if you are a class with individual weapon proficiencies and multiclass into something which has proficiency with simple/martial weapons, you can exchange them for skill or tool proficiencies. Three weapon proficiencies for one skill proficiency, or one for one tool or instrument proficiency.
