About me
I'm a flexible DM that is always open to player requests, input or just general feedback! I work in Games Design, and I'm the lead Games Designer on the exciting BG3 Mod: Path to Menzoberranzan! I bring that games design experience to my DMing - creating dynamic combats, and playing around with new mechanics. Since starting to play DnD over 10 years ago I have run several campaigns, and introduced countless new players to the game so I am more than happy to teach new players and bring them on their first DnD adventure.

Creating your character
I'm happy to help with creating your character, and even have some ready made if you would prefer. We will be using 2014 content because the game has been balanced around those options. Though if there is a particular piece of 2024 content you are excited about we may be able to include it. Stats will be point buy. Characters will begin at level 2, and a milestone XP system will be used for leveling. There will be additional material relevant to your character's backstory and motivations discussed in session 0 so I would advise against writing a character backstory before session 0!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: - Regular availability for the scheduled session time - A Discord account - A mic that is reliable and clear - A stable internet connection - A computer that meets the minimum requirements for FoundryVTT https://foundryvtt.com/article/requirements/ - If your computer struggles with memory issues, you may find it cannot load some of the high quality animated maps and scenes that I use in my game.

Homebrew rules
Drinking a health potion is a bonus action, administering one to another player is an action. To increase immersion the numerical results of perception, stealth, investigation, and insight checks are hidden from players.

How Barney creates a safe table
Most sessions will have a 5 minute break towards the middle. I make time outside of game sessions to answer player questions or take feedback. Lines and Veils will be discussed in session 0, and can be updated before or during the campaign if players wish. See the content warnings below for indications of what kind of content may appear in the campaign.
