About the adventure

Welcome to a great adventure designed for both new and veteran players. This is one of the highest rated D&D campaigns and one of my favorites to run. It is filled with interesting NPCs, tons of places to explore, and fantastic combat settings that make this such a memorable adventure. To "add" to this experience, this campaign will be customized to continue on into an additional campaign such as "Tyranny of Dragons", "Shattered Obelisk", "Curse of Strahd" etc based upon the groups decision. This basically blends two epic campaigns into one! This will allow you to have a customized experience to advance your character through much higher levels and experience the broader world of the Sword Coast. If you are new to D&D then please don't hesitate to join this game, and if you are a long time adventurer then I promise you will enjoy this campaign.

About me

Hello adventurers! Are you searching for a Dungeon Master who thrives on crafting immersive experiences and bringing epic stories to life? Look no further! I’m a passionate Dungeons & Dragons Game Master with a deep love for creating dynamic, story-rich campaigns that captivate and challenge players. With experience as both a player and a Dungeon Master, I have a unique perspective that allows me to understand and balance the excitement from both sides of the screen. I excel at designing creative combat scenarios and intricate campaigns that provide ample opportunities for players to develop their characters and explore a richly detailed world. One of my favorite aspects of being a Game Master is introducing new players to the magic of D&D. Whether you're new to the game or just looking to try something different, I specialize in running “introductory campaigns” and one-shots that give you a taste of everything D&D has to offer. These sessions are designed to be both engaging and educational, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for newcomers. Over the last 5 years I have leaned more into utilizing Roll20 as my primary platform....even with in person sessions. By combining Roll20 and Discord I love all of the immersive features from dynamic lighting and custom maps to interactive tokens and themed music. I use every tool at my disposal to create a fully immersive environment. My goal is to make every session not just a game, but a vivid adventure that you won’t soon forget. If you’re ready to embark on an unforgettable journey filled with epic battles, intriguing characters, and compelling storylines, I’d love to be your Game Master. Let’s make some magic together!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will begin at Level 1 and should be created before the first session. There will be a session zero where players are free to discuss their character ideas. Additionally, I’m happy to assist new players with character creation if needed, and we can review all characters together before the campaign begins to make sure everything is ready for play. Ability scores will be determined using Standard Array or Point Buy to keep the party balanced. Characters should be created using official D&D 5e (2024) sourcebooks, with the Player’s Handbook as the primary reference. Characters will be created using the Roll20 character sheet, which we will be using during the game. If you already have a character concept in mind, you are welcome to bring it to the table and we can adapt it to fit the adventure. The campaign begins in Neverwinter, so characters should have a reason for being there and looking for work as an adventurer. Whether you are seeking fortune, knowledge, redemption, or simply the next great story, your character should have a motivation to cooperate with the party and engage with the adventure. I aim to run a collaborative, story-driven campaign where each character has the opportunity to grow and play an important role in the unfolding story.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To help the session run smoothly, please complete the following steps before the game begins: 1. Join the Discord Server After joining the game, you will receive an invitation to the campaign’s Discord server, which we will use for voice chat, announcements, and session communication. Please make sure your microphone is working and that you are able to join the voice channel before the session starts. 2. Create a Roll20 Account The game will be played using Roll20 for maps, character sheets, dice rolling, and visuals. If you do not already have an account, you can create a free one at Roll20.net. I will provide a link to the game once you join the campaign. 3. Prepare Your Character Characters will begin at Level 1. Please create your character ahead of time using the Roll20 character sheet. If you are new to D&D or would like help building your character, I’m happy to assist before the first session. 4. Check Your Equipment A microphone and stable internet connection are required along with a camera. Headphones are highly recommended to reduce background noise and improve audio quality for everyone at the table. 5. Be Ready to Play Please join the Discord voice channel a few minutes early so we can start on time. Having your character sheet open in Roll20 and being ready to jump into the adventure helps keep the session running smoothly. If you have any questions about setup or character creation, feel free to reach out and I’ll be happy to help.
