About the adventure
Hail and met, adventurers! This tale takes place in The Forgotten Realms of Faerun, in The City of Splendors. Waterdeep, named for its deep-water harbor, is a city with at least 100,000 residents, built on top of an ancient elven city, a vast dungeon network underneath, and multiple famous factions. All nestled in the shadow of the towering, Mount Waterdeep. A famed explorer has requested your aid in a simple adventure. However simple things, as we all know, rarely remain simple. Join me, as we delve into this storied metropolis, exploring the streets and structures of this place as you uncover a villainous plot. You must use your strength, wits, cunning, and guile to win the day as you find yourselves caught up in a race between warring factions of legend, to seek the prize of a lifetime.

About me
I'm just an average working man who loves fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. I've had an obsession with myths, folklore, and monsters since a young age, and I have always been a sucker for a good story. These loves are what helped me first get into D&D, and TTRPGs as a whole. I've been playing TTRPGs for 23 years. I got my start playing Dungeons and Dragons 1st edition, since then I have participated in a number of games. GMed for the first time in 2011, since then I have ran a number of Dungeons and Dragons games and a small series of World of Darkness (now called Chronicles of Darkness) games.

Creating your character
Character creation will take place in our first session, referred to as, session 0. It shall take place on Roll20, and all characters will begin at level 1. for stat creation, there are 3 methods that are typically used generating character stats, we shall discuss what method works best for everyone. For character creation we will refer to The Player's Handbook (2014&2024 versions are both acceptable). Other suggested, but not required books would be Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and The Swordcoast Adventurer's Guide.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be utilizing Discord and Roll20 for this. Accounts on both sites can be created for free.
What Nile S. brings to the table
I have always considered myself of a bit of an amateur voice actor, and I always strive to TRY and do voices for most of the NPCs in my campaigns. Combat should be engaging but never overly complicated. The Rules as Written are excellent guidelines, but the Rule of Cool is almost always welcome at my table.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action. This is honestly the only homebrew rule I can think of.

How Nile S. creates a safe table
I will work with each player to help determine their Lines & Veils, so that we can try to ensure the best possible outcome for our roleplay experience. If at anytime something comes up that is a trigger or sensitive subject, simply say, "X Card". We will pause play and discuss, privately if need be.
