About the adventure
You and your friends have always had sticky fingers. A stolen vase there, stolen jeweler there... It started as children when you stole festival treats from an unsuspecting peddler. One day there is a terrible storm where everyone's houses were damaged, including your own home. The homes of the poor are rarely built to last, but as broke, working class villagers you have little money to pay to have the damage fixed. The first time you steal to try and recover the funds you tell yourselves that you had no other choice. But after the 15th successful heist you actually find it quite fun. When selling the goods, the shady merchant buying them tells you one of his contacts is looking for a gang of organized thieves to do some dirty work for him, and ask if you are interested. š¬ Game Details This is an asynchronous play by post game set in my homebrew world where you play as a lower class thief who finds wealth through building their own criminal empire. Hire spies, informants, bodyguards, alchemists specializing in drug production or whatever else your heart desires and shape your criminal empire as you see fit. The NPCs working for you will do whatever task you ask them to, but their success rate is based on their experience with the task you are asking them to do and a dice roll. š„Character Driven and Story Focused The game will be largely driven by the groups character actions, and those actions will come with consequences. Your choices matter. š¤ Boundaries The game is LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive. We start the game off with a session 0 where we discuss what kind of character you want to play and whatever boundaries we both have. Session 0 and the first week is free of charge. š¤ If you cannot work well in groups and share the loot fairly, this game is not for you. š Posting Schedule Daily long posts which advances the narrative forward, written with the same amount of detail I put into my fantasy novels. Additionally I will respond with shorter messages daily for more conversational roleplay between you and the NPCs. If the players wish, we can also coordinate certain dates and times where we sit down once per week and focus on the roleplay, either over voice or over text. Although that may come with a small extra fee. We will discuss that as a group in session 0.

About me
Hi! I have been a DM for close to 10 years, with 15 years experience in text roleplay and creative writing. My specialization is creating character arcs and involving character backstory into the plot of the game. I used to run successful a westmarch community 3 years ago where I streamed my games on twitch. I quit when I decided to go back to university and finish up my education and I realized I could not realistically do both. Additionally, I also enjoy building my own systems, homebrewing and worldbuilding. All my games take place in my own homebrew world where the actions of all players are canon. If you burn down a village, that village is gone for everyone.

Creating your character
You will start at level 1. Character creation will be done during session 0, you do not need to bring any materials or programs. Just an idea of who you want to be. We use D&DBeyond and Avrae for character sheets and rolling. If you do not own any books I will share mine, no problem!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All you need is a discord account, a dndbeyond account and an idea of what kind of character you want to play!
What Railynn brings to the table
I will provide D&DBeyond content if you do not have it, an interesting story and a fun environment! I am more of a rule of cool DM and I encourage creative use of abilities, spells, traits, etc.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action but feeding it to someone else is an action. I will allow you to do cool things even if it goes against the rules as long as it is at the bare minimum semi realistic. (No jumping to the moon with 10 strength and no magic aiding you for example.)

Safety
How Railynn creates a safe table
Before I start any game I run a session 0 where we go over our hopes and expectations for the game. Additionally, we will talk about boundaries, open communication, if you have any no-no topics or triggers I should avoid, etc. If there is something you don't want in the game, I will not put it in the game and I will keep an open communication with my players throughout the game and give warnings if something which could be any level of traumatic would happen (unless the player asks me not to in session 0). Once per month I check in with all my players to ask about how they feel about where the story is going as well as the vibe of the game. I also ask if there is anything they would love to see happen or something they would love for their character to be capable of and I will begin the process of creating opportunities for that to happen.
