About the adventure
New York City is a monster, and tonight it smells fresh blood. Drawn together by a shared and unfamiliar Hunger, the characters find themselves hunting in the same public space—neon-lit, crowded, and dangerously exposed. What should be a simple feeding quickly reveals the first truth of undeath: nothing in this city is unclaimed, and ignorance of Kindred law offers no protection. NYC by Night is a modern-nights Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition chronicle centered on personal horror, survival, and the deadly politics that lurk beneath everyday life. From the very first session, players are thrown into the reality of being Kindred—balancing secrecy, desperation, and fear as unseen powers test them through proxies, rivals, and consequences rather than mercy. This game is character-driven and roleplay-forward, emphasizing tense social encounters, moral pressure, and the slow unraveling of humanity. Other vampires move through the same night—some just as lost, others eager to deflect blame or gain leverage. When the Beast takes over and violence erupts, it is sudden, messy, and never clean, leaving scars that shape the coterie’s future long after the blood dries. This chronicle is for players who enjoy immersive storytelling, difficult choices, and learning the rules of the night the hard way. New players are welcome and supported, while veterans will find familiar themes explored through consequence-heavy play and evolving city politics. If you want a game where feeding is never routine, power is always borrowed, and survival depends on who you trust when things go wrong, NYC by Night is waiting.

About me
Hey everyone!! My name is Caden, and I have played role-play games for over six years. I enjoy DND and World of Darkness and hope to provide the best experience for all future players.

Creating your character
Players will create neonate vampires—newly embraced Kindred still learning the rules of the night and struggling with their first true taste of Hunger. Characters begin with limited power, fragile status, and very real consequences for every mistake, making growth, ambition, and survival central to the story.

What Caden brings to the table
I provide access to all required rulebooks and reference materials, so players do not need to own any Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition books to participate. Rules support and guidance are always available, especially for new players learning the system. Expect a strong focus on atmosphere and immersive roleplay. I aim to create a living, reactive version of modern New York City through evocative descriptions, character-driven scenes, and meaningful consequences. Music, tone-setting, and pacing are used to enhance tension, horror, and emotional impact without overwhelming the table. My goal is to deliver a collaborative, respectful, and engaging play experience. Sessions emphasize player agency, clear communication, and safety tools to ensure everyone is comfortable exploring dark themes. I strive to create a table where players feel invested in the story, supported as collaborators, and excited to return each week.

How Caden creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are a priority in this game. We will use Lines and Veils to establish clear boundaries around content that is off-limits or handled off-screen, ensuring everyone knows what themes are welcome and which are not. A dedicated Session Zero will be used to discuss tone, expectations, character concepts, and safety tools before play begins. This ensures we are all aligned on the kind of story we are telling and creates a strong foundation for collaborative storytelling. We will also use Roses and Thorns as a regular check-in tool, giving players space to share what they enjoyed and what could be improved. Open communication is encouraged at all times, and players are always welcome to speak up or step away if something becomes uncomfortable.
