About the adventure

South Night City has been considered a Combat Zone since long before the Forth Corporate War destroyed the supply lines and made the scarcity of goods even worse. People only live here if they are too broke for anything else, or have nothing to steal, or are Edgerunners. You are an Edgerunner. You live and die by your wits and your chrome. For you, South Night City is a place where you can be yourself without any of those damn laws or cops to try to stop you.

About me

I'm a TTRPG collector and ForeverDM looking to play more games than I already do. I'm especially looking to play the massive amount of indie games I've been collecting. My "favorite games" section in my profile is filled with games I can start running with little to no prep because I know them so well. I can run almost anything, so if there is something you and your group want to try then send me a message!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters need to be created in the Cyberpunk Companion App. Either the Template, Fast & Dirty, or Calculated options are fine. You need to make sure that you don't buy any gear or cyberware from the Edgerunners Mission Kit as that tech doesn't exist in 2045, yet.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be playing using a combination of Discord, Roll20, and the Cyberpunk Companion App. The App will keep all records of characters and allow you to share them with me for the campaign. The maps and missions will be handled on Roll20. Chat, Voice, and between mission updates will happen on the Discord.

What -Jasen brings to the table

We are going to stick to the rulebook as closely as possible for this game, as I am labeling it for beginners. That said, in my 5 years of running this game, I know what works and what doesn't. Most of the game works RAW, but sometimes it doesn't. And it really never makes sense. Don't play this game if you are looking for rules that follow logic. I will do my best to keep the voices and characters distinct, but Night City is a busy place and half the fun of the game is meeting new people and making connections, or killing them. I allow anything found in the released DLC from the Rtalsorian website (most of this is in the Companion App). And I will be running the Three Mooks System from the Listen Up! John John the Wise DLC for most combat. It makes things a lot faster and keeps combat running pretty smooth.

Homebrew rules

I will be using the Critical Hit deck for crits. I like drawing the cards and it usually creates a much wider spread of crits than the dice do. Before I used the cards, it felt like almost 90% of crits were Foreign Object. I will be using the Cyberpunk Game Master's Apprentice Deck to come up with names on the fly and to check what is in people's pockets. I like the randomness and thinking on my feet.

Safety

How -Jasen creates a safe table

This game is brutal, and has a lot of body horror mixed with the body modification. There is lots of intense violence and mature themes. That said, we will have a lines and veils that we set up in Session 0. I start the lines with kids. Kids will always be safe in my game and I will do my best to keep them from popping up as much as I can. But YoGangs are a thing in this world, and the teenagers that join them know what they are getting themselves into, mostly.
