The war is over; the Yuan-Ti defeated, but remnants of their armies remain. Worse are the rumors of undead in the wilderness and destroyed forts.

About me

Hello! I'm Rob, a very longtime player and GM, and I'd love to introduce you to tabletop RPGs and D&D or provide a veteran player a fun experience. In addition to being a gamer, I am a dog dad and adequate servant to our cats (just ask them), educator, and runner.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created during session zero in HeroLab using a modified standard array. Alternately, players may use classes not available from Tales of the Valiant so long as I have the character rules. There are also barebones pre-gens available in HeroLab.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need an account on Discord and possibly HeroLab, both of which are free.

What Rob brings to the table

You will need a webcam, mic, and Discord account to go with a free HeroLab account to view your character. We can use dicebots or physical dice; I use physical ones, but it's your choice. Combat is theater of the mind. I love to link plot to PC backstories, PC/NPC interactions, and PC action/inaction. For the most part I play RAW, but will listen to an argument for why a PC should be able to attempt a thing.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a potion can be a bonus action with a roll for amount healed or an action for full healing. Critical hits get a max roll plus one damage roll plus bonuses for damage.

Safety

How Rob creates a safe table

I will use Monte Cooks Games Consent in Gaming checklist. lines and veils, and, if necessary, a player may call a stop to the scene at any time. We will review content as part of session zero. While I have a lot of content, a great deal of it will be veiled. As this is a descendant of D&D, fighting and looting are expected, but that doesn't call for graphic descriptions of either, or anything else.
