About the adventure
In Gravebound, you play as survivors of a failed ritual performed by a secretive clan—an experiment designed to sever a soul from the world’s divine and bureaucratic “systems” without anyone noticing. The result? You are not undead. You are not resurrected. You are something worse: A legal and cosmic error. Declared dead by official imperial record, you move through the world as a contradiction—alive only because the world believes you aren’t. Healing magic behaves strangely. Resurrection doesn’t work. Some doors won’t open for you… and some people won’t remember you the same way twice. Across the Hingain Empire, you’ll investigate disturbing fragments of the truth in towns like Oak Meadow, Crowgrove, Mosswind, and Swanwall, piecing together what the ritual was meant to create—and what you’re slowly becoming. This is a dark investigative fantasy campaign filled with secrets, moral choices, political pressure, and creeping existential horror—where the villain isn’t just a monster… It’s the system deciding you’re impossible.

About me
Hi! I’m a Game Master with 3 years of experience running immersive, homebrew campaigns in D&D 5E. My games are built around rich storytelling, dynamic improv, and custom maps to help bring the world to life. Whether you enjoy gritty realism, high fantasy, heavy roleplay, or chaotic combat, I adapt to your playstyle and make sure the table feels alive. I specialize in mature settings that explore complex characters and deeper themes—ideal for players looking for more than just dungeon crawls. If you're ready to dive into a world that's shaped by your choices, I’ve got a seat at the table waiting.

What Kyle Konrath brings to the table
✅ What will I provide my players? I run cinematic, story-driven games with a strong focus on player choice, immersion, and meaningful consequences. Gravebound is built around mystery, tension, and discovery — but it still delivers when it’s time for combat. 🎭 Roleplay & Immersion I love roleplay-heavy scenes and NPC interaction I use character voices where it fits (not perfect accents, but clear personality and energy) I run the world like it’s alive: your actions matter, and people remember what you do 🎧 Atmosphere I use ambient music and sound to match tone and location (catacombs, storms, city streets, rituals, etc.) Expect a consistent dark, eerie vibe with moments of humour and relief when earned ⚔️ Combat Style Combat is meaningful, not random — it happens for a reason Fights range from tense and tactical to fast and cinematic Enemies use smart tactics, but I always aim for fair challenge, not “gotcha” deaths Boss fights and set-pieces will feel memorable and dangerous 📜 Rules & Rulings I lean toward Rules as Written, but I’m not robotic about it I’ll use Rule of Cool when it makes the moment better and doesn’t break the game My priority is keeping the game smooth, consistent, and fun 🧠 Player Agency & Tone This campaign rewards investigation, clever thinking, and bold choices You’ll have freedom to approach problems your own way — no “one correct path” Expect themes of identity, secrets, survival, and corruption within systems ✅ What you can expect from me every session Clear direction when needed, freedom when it matters Strong pacing (no endless wandering or dead time) A GM who wants you to feel like the story is about your characters A safe, respectful table where everyone gets a chance to shine
Homebrew rules
✅ Homebrew Rules To support the tone of Gravebound (tension, survival, and meaningful choices), I use a few light but impactful homebrew rules: 💰 Bearcarta Economy This campaign uses my Bearcarta economy system (copper/silver/gold values and pricing are adjusted to match the setting). Money matters, services feel grounded, and rewards feel earned. World Codex Bearcarta 1.22 🛌 Long Rests (Survival Tone) Long rests follow my campaign rules to better fit the darker tone of the setting. This helps reduce “full reset” pacing and makes travel, danger, and recovery feel more meaningful. 🧪 Potions (Fast vs Safe) To keep combat flowing and give real choice: Drink a potion as an Action: you gain the full amount Drink a potion as a Bonus Action: you roll the potion normally ☠️ Death Saves are Whispered All death saving throws are rolled privately (whispered) to the GM. This creates real tension and makes going down feel scary and dramatic, without being unfair. 🩸 Dropping to 0 HP Has a Cost Whenever you are reduced to 0 HP and later get back up, you gain 1 point of Exhaustion. This makes being downed matter and discourages “yo-yo healing” without removing player agency. All homebrew rules will be clearly explained before Session 1, and I’m always happy to answer questions.

How Kyle Konrath creates a safe table
✅ Player Safety & Comfort Your comfort at the table matters just as much as the story. Gravebound can include dark themes, so I make sure we maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable space for everyone. 🛡️ Session 0 Expectations Before the campaign begins, we’ll go over: Campaign tone and themes (dark fantasy / investigation / tension) Boundaries, triggers, and “hard no” topics Preferred playstyle (roleplay vs combat balance) Group expectations: spotlight sharing, teamwork, table etiquette 🚦 Boundaries & Consent Tools (Lines & Veils) I use Lines & Veils to set clear limits on content: Lines = content that will not appear in the game Veils = content that may exist, but will fade to black or remain off-screen If needed, I can provide a quick and simple Lines & Veils form/link before we start so players can submit privately. ❌ X / N / O Safety System During sessions, you can communicate comfort levels at any time using X, N, and O’s, either: Digitally (message/chat) Or verbally if you’re comfortable No explanations required — if someone signals discomfort, we adjust immediately and move on without judgement. 🖤 Debrief & Aftercare At the end of every session, I do a short debrief to check in: What you enjoyed most Anything that felt off, too intense, or not fun Anything you want more or less of moving forward I also welcome feedback between sessions, so you always have a chance to speak privately and comfortably before the next game. ✅ My Goal as GM My priority is always: A fun table Player trust A story that feels intense and immersive without crossing personal boundaries
