About the adventure
"Time is a wheel. With each inevitable turn it becomes heavier. I see its weight on the backs of my people. In the hollowness of their eyes. In the dampening of their spirit. Their sorrow is my joy. For in their despair I feel the fleeting hints of a life I once knew. A life now long forgotten. I am Count Strahd von Sarovich; and Barovia is my domain. Come and bend your will to me..." The Curse of Strahd is one of the most compelling adventures ever created for Dungeons and Dragons. Inspired by the Ravenloft module of the 1980s,. The Curse of Strahd is a perennial favourite of DMs and players alike. Expect an atmosphere-rich, gothic horror environment populated by villains, spirits, ghosts and creatures of folklore designed to make your hair stand on end. My expanded version of Curse of Strahd includes many customizations including custom monsters, custom random encounters, expanded missions and additional lore. The depth of role play is at each player's discretion. I typically skew 60% combat vs 40% role play but can adjust to suit party needs. My philosophy on gaming is that it should be fun! I am not an adversarial DM and I'm looking to provide players with opportunities to do truly heroic deeds. The Rule of Cool presides in my games! Join us!

About me
Hello! I've been a DM/GM since I was a teenager. My game of choice is DnD, however, I also run Call of Cthulhu, Alien: RPG and others. I really enjoy the story-telling aspect of role-playing games. For me, GMing is about creating a compelling environment to challenge players -- it's not a competition. I'm just wrapping a 7 year long campaign cycle and looking to meet new players. Kicking off in 2026 will be two cycles of Curse of Strahd and a third with my pre-tested Homebrew Campaign Evershire which will carry players from 1st to 20th level. If there is enough interest, I will launch games for alternative systems -- check out a list of my faves below. Happy to learn something new for a committed player-base. Over the years I have spent literally thousands of dollars on games, tokens, rules, modules, maps, expansions and handouts -- all of which are housed on Roll 20. Benefit from my library of awesomeness for a truly immersive experience!! I prioritize fun and value the rule of cool -- so if you're looking for that type of environment, consider me as your next GM!

Creating your character
We will do a session zero to discuss character creation. We will do a point-buy system with 27 points to allocate across S, D, W, I, C, and CH. To the extent possible, we will try to give everyone their first choice of class, but duplicate character classes may be problematic. Let's discuss!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please make an account on Roll20. Player accounts are free. I have all of the rulebooks, expansions, module, maps, tokens, etc. available. If you intend to pre-build your character prior to the session zero, please make it in Roll20 (or DnD Beyond if you have the patch which allows you to import it into Roll20).
What Graham Peddie brings to the table
I will provide all the rules, VTT access, module maps, tokens, etc. I also include custom expansions to this module including custom monsters, custom random encounters, enhanced monsters for skilled players (optional), enhanced arch villain for skilled players (optional). Also included are atmospheric sound track and interactive Tarokka Deck for simulated fortune telling.
Homebrew rules
Rules clarifications: Drinking a potion is an action. Barring special abilities (i.e. fancy footwork) Thieves need to be hidden or have access to cover to benefit from sneak attack. Heroes' Feast only gives resistance to poison (not immunity) I give Druids a little extra help to support their spellcasting (i.e. I remove the concentration for Moonbeam, etc. so they can participate more readily in combat). Let's discuss other rules.

How Graham Peddie creates a safe table
Some of the material here is pretty intense. Check out the long-list of warnings below. The game is intended to be fun, so we will check in with each other routinely, especially in the beginning, to make sure everyone has a comfortable experience.
