About the adventure
It has been fifty years since the Dragonborn vanished, leaving Skyrim locked in a suffocating stalemate. The Civil War has devolved into a generational curse; the Empire and the Stormcloaks still trade blows over ruined forts and snow-choked passes, but their conflict has become a war of attrition that has bled the province dry. With the armies focused entirely on one another, the wilds have been abandoned to bandits, trolls, the covens and the ancient dead. There are no saviors coming to break the deadlock, only a frozen, lawless frontier where the high roads are treacherous and the nights are long, cold, and deadly. In this new era, you are not saviors or soldiers fighting for a flag, but desperate opportunists willing to brave the places where most fear to tread. The only true wealth left lies buried in the deep Dwemer ruins and sealed Nordic crypts. Artifacts of power and secrets untold await those willing to risk their lives to obtain them. The rules of survival here are brutal: magic is volatile, combat is lethal, and the darkness is absolute.

About me
Hey all, my name is Dean but I typically go by Technobable online. I am new to the Startplaying site but not to running games online. I started playing tabletop RPG’s in the early 80’s when I was 10, became a GM by 14 out of necessity and have been GM’ing ever since. I have played and GM’ed many systems over the years and enjoy learning new systems as they come out. I typically put a lot of time and effort into my games with a good mix of cultivated story, improv and spontaneity thrown in. I dislike railroads so I tend to give my players a large amount of agency on where they go and what they do. All I ask is that your characters to be team players to some extent so the game flows well and we don’t have problematic players trying to steal the energy from the game. I typically do not have that issue as I tend to remove those trouble players earlier than later for the enjoyment of the rest of the group.
