About the adventure

Heindel: The Continent Twice-born, is an open-world sandbox campaign where the story is driven first and foremost by your characters. The world nearly ended during the Hush calamity, and what rose in its place is fractured, strange, and full of forgotten truths. There are major events unfolding in the background, but whether you engage with them, ignore them, or derail them entirely is always your choice. This is a character-driven, choice-heavy game. Your backstories, goals, flaws, and strange ideas actively shape the world. If you bring me something unexpected or downright bizarre, I’ll find a place for it in Heindel’s history, cultures, or future. There is no “correct” path, only consequences that grow naturally from what you decide to do. The table leans heavily toward roleplay, immersion, and fun over strict rules. I favor Rule of Cool, flexible rulings, and cinematic moments over perfect mechanical play. Homebrew is welcome, creativity is encouraged, and the focus is on telling a great story together rather than squeezing every bonus out of the system. This game is inspired by RPG video games in structure and feel: exploration, meaningful choices, branching outcomes, and a world that reacts to you. Player experience level doesn’t matter, new and veteran players alike are welcome as long as you enjoy roleplay, agency, and collaborative storytelling.

About me

Hello there! I fell in love with RPGs from a young age, from touching stories, strategic combats to decisions that influcnce your future. So no wonder I finally got to TTRPGs. With my already present desire to make games. After a few year of being a player I decided to try my strenghts as a DM. I hope to make nice connections with people and learn how to make an enjoyable experience for players. For me the player experience comes first!

Character creation

Creating your character

- This game is driven by players and character story most than others as such it is important to create a flashed out character with a backstory and goals that can influence the game. - You start at lvl 3 with one common magic item ^^ (It doesn't have to be from offical list ex. shifters cloak for a changeling that transforms with the character) - Homebrew is welcome!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Nothing crazy. A mic, discord account, working internet. Depending on your decison we may start with a small free session 0.5 a short one on one experince where I will get your character in a place where you can start with the rest of the party so that your story makes sense (this also works as a small "tutorial" if you are new to DnD or FoundryVTT)

What Patches brings to the table

My goal is to create a story-rich world that responds to your choices and brings your characters to the center of the action. Heindel is alive, but it's your actions, goals, and imagination that shape it. I’ll build around your backstories and playstyles to make sure everyone has moments to shine. Expect a mix of storytelling, puzzles, tactical combat, and weird problems that can’t be solved with a sword alone. I’m flexible with rules, open to homebrew and custom ideas, and I’ll always prioritize what makes the game fun and engaging for you even if it means bending the rules a little. We’ll play using Foundry VTT with high-quality maps, ambient music, and (questionable but enthusiastic) character voices. Whether you’re here for the drama, the chaos, or the mystery, you’ll have space to be creative and make your mark on the world.

Homebrew rules

I don't change much just so that the game feels better to play or some rules that I don't agree with nothing big. Depending on what the party thinks rules can be added or changed The list can be seen on party discord when you join.

Safety

How Patches creates a safe table

On session 0 or by messages You could express anything that is a no-go for you if you prefer to be annoymous I am sure that we will also find a way to do that. All in all I will change what you don't feel comftable with and anything that is bellow is not nessesary. All I ask is to let me know in advance before the campagin so that potential prep time won't go to waste. This is a Sandbox camp so I can't list every content warning as I have no idea what would be your story.
