About the adventure
Barovia is a land where hope rots slowly. The villagers have forgotten what sunlight feels like. The roads loop back on themselves. And somewhere in the dark, something old watches you with patient, predatory interest. Session 0 is free, and your first paid session is fully refundable. If the table isn't for you, you've lost nothing but an evening. WHAT THIS IS Not a dungeon crawl. A collaborative gothic horror novel, and you are the protagonist. This is a hand-crafted Curse of Strahd, fully converted to Pathfinder 2e Remastered: every encounter rebuilt for the three-action economy, every investigation given multiple paths so a single failed roll never stops the story. Your backstory isn't flavor text. It's the blueprint of the main plot. NPCs remember your choices. The land reshapes itself around who you're becoming. THE VIBE Candlelight and rot. NPCs who smile while they lie. Dread that builds slowly through atmosphere, consequence, and moral weight, never cheap jump scares. The balance runs roughly 40% roleplay and intrigue, 30% exploration and mystery, 30% high-stakes tactical combat. Combat always serves the story. WHAT YOU'LL DO Investigate a cursed valley with no easy way out. Decide which villages to save and which to abandon. Court dangerous allies, read the cards that hint at your fate, and eventually decide how, or whether, you face the devil of the valley. WHO THIS IS FOR Players who want deep immersion, a character-driven story, moral weight, and tactical combat that carries narrative consequence. This table rewards investment: in your character, in the world, and in the people sitting at it with you. No Pathfinder experience required. If you can follow a story, I'll teach you the mechanics. WHAT YOU GET AT ETIENNE'S TABLE A premium self-hosted Foundry VTT server with the fully animated Beneos Battlemaps collection, dynamic lighting, and cinematic audio. Free Archetype and Automatic Bonus Progression, so you build the hero you actually envision and never have to shop for magic items to stay competitive. A server that stays live around the clock, so Barovia keeps existing between sessions and you can revisit handouts, lore, and inventory whenever you like. And a GM who is a published author, a former publishing director, and a creative-writing teacher, running a story he has spent months building by hand. The mists are already rising.

About me
I'm Étienne, a published author, former publishing director, and creative-writing teacher. I've spent my professional life on one question: what makes a story land? For the past year I've been bringing that to the table full-time. That background shapes how I run games. Your backstory isn't decoration I nod at in session one, it's structural. NPCs remember what you did three sessions ago. Consequences compound. The plot bends around who your character is becoming, because that's where the good material lives. I'm also a technician about it. Every encounter in this campaign has been rebuilt by hand for PF2e's three-action economy. Every investigation has multiple routes and no dead ends. You'll never be stuck because you failed one roll. What I ask for is investment. What I give back is a table where your choices leave marks on the world. Session 0 is free, and your first paid session is fully refundable. Come find out if this is your kind of table. It costs you nothing to check.

Creating your character
Characters start at Level 3 using Pathfinder 2e Remastered, with Free Archetype and Automatic Bonus Progression. Build in Pathbuilder and send me the link. I handle the technical import into Foundry, and I handle every level-up after that. You play, I do the bookkeeping. All ancestries, classes, and backgrounds from the Remastered core are open. If you want something from an older book, ask me and we'll usually find a way to make it work. Before Session 1, every player gets a private thirty-minute consultation with me. We use it to give your character a real stake in Barovia: a reason to fight, something to fear, and something to lose. That conversation is where the campaign's engine gets built, and it's the reason NPCs will remember you three sessions later. No Pathfinder experience required. Come with an idea of who your character is, and I'll take care of the rest.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Joining is simple. Use the Join button here on StartPlaying to claim your seat. Once you've booked, I'll send you an invitation to our Discord, which serves as our voice channel and community hub, and we'll schedule your private consultation and a short server tour before Session 0. Foundry VTT runs directly in your browser. Nothing to download, nothing to buy. You'll need a working microphone and a stable connection. The table's audio immersion depends on everyone being audible, so this one isn't optional.
What Etienne's Table brings to the table
A professional, hand-crafted Pathfinder 2e conversion of Curse of Strahd. Not a port, a real adaptation: every encounter rebuilt around the three-action economy, and every investigation designed with multiple routes so the story never stalls on a single roll. The full animated Beneos Battlemaps collection with dynamic lighting and cinematic soundscapes, all built directly into a self-hosted Foundry server that stays online between sessions. White-glove character management. I handle level-ups, sheet imports, and the technical side of Foundry so you can spend your evening playing rather than administrating. As a GM I use distinct voices for every named NPC, run ambient music and sound cues throughout, and keep combat tight and tactical. I favour consistent rulings over table debates, and I will always take the reading that keeps a scene moving. A free Session 0 and a fully refundable first paid session, so you can find out whether this table suits you before committing to anything.
Homebrew rules
Free Archetype, which gives every character a second archetype's worth of feats and lets you build the concept you actually have in mind rather than the one the feat budget allows. Automatic Bonus Progression, which grants your potency, striking, and resilient bonuses automatically as you level. In practice this means Barovia can stay poor and desperate the way the setting demands, without your character ever falling behind the math. Rules are enforced consistently, because tactical combat only feels dangerous when the numbers are trustworthy. Within that structure, I will always take the ruling that keeps the scene moving.

How Etienne's Table creates a safe table
Dark themes require absolute trust, and my table runs on a framework built to earn it. Before we play, you'll receive the Consent in Gaming checklist from Monte Cook Games. Session 0 is mandatory and free, and we use it to establish lines, veils, and full consent before anyone rolls a die. During play, a digital X-Card is built directly into the Foundry interface. One click pauses or edits any scene, with no explanation required and no questions asked. My door is always open besides: private messages to me are welcome at any time and always answered. Every session closes with a Stars and Wishes debrief of ten to fifteen minutes, where we decompress, name the moments of roleplay that landed, and talk about where things go next. Regular breaks during play and post-session aftercare are standard, not exceptions.
