About the adventure

Greetings Adventurers! This game is open to both new and experienced players who are looking for a collaborative, story-driven Dungeons & Dragons experience. Whether this is your first campaign or you are a veteran of the game, you will find a table that values respect, creativity, and shared storytelling. New players will be supported, and experienced players will have room to engage deeply with the world and its challenges. What This Game Is Lost Mine of Phandelver is a classic introductory D&D 5th Edition adventure that balances roleplay, exploration, and combat. The campaign is structured, but not rigid: player choices matter, and the world will respond to your actions. While the adventure provides a strong narrative foundation, there is ample room for character development, ambition, and emergent storytelling to develop naturally over the course of play. The Setting The adventure is set in the frontier region surrounding the town of Phandalin, a small settlement in the Sword Coast. The area is rich with opportunity—and danger—featuring abandoned ruins, hidden caves, rival factions, and long-forgotten secrets. This is a grounded fantasy setting where local politics, economic interests, and ancient history all intersect. What You Can Expect Players can expect a balanced campaign with meaningful combat, opportunities for roleplay, and exploration that rewards curiosity and problem-solving. Challenges are designed to be consequential and team-oriented. The tone of the adventure is up to the players, whether it's a goofy comedy, serious drama, or a mix of the two.

About me

=== Sick Games === My name is Marcus. I've been GM-ing games for about 15 years. I started with D&D and soon after I started playing other TTRPGs. I love tailoring player experiences and providing unexpected narrative pay-offs. I do my best to balance roleplay, tactics, and player characters' personal stories. I offer tables that prioritize mutual respect, well-balanced gameplay, and tailor-made experiences. My past players say my games are immersive and evenly paced; I do my best to make sessions feel cinematic. I expect players at my tables to be respectful, curious, and willing to engage with the story.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will occur during a session 0. We'll use the 2024 Player's Handbook rules. Stats will be determined with rolls.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Read through chapters 1-4 of the 2024 Player's Handbook. Make sure you have Discord installed and a microphone and headphones connect to a desktop/laptop - the Virtual Tabletop does not support mobile functionality.

What Sick brings to the table

I fully embrace the use of character voices, but I don't expect players to do so. I stick to the rules as written for the most part, but will veer into the rule of cool when it appropriately serves the narrative. Combat will be intense, but fair - although it is possible to get in over your heads if you're reckless.

Homebrew rules

I stick to the rules as written.
