About the adventure

Waterdeep is a city of secrets, leverage, and bad decisions — and you’ve just stepped into the middle of it. This two-session mini-campaign drops you into the city’s criminal underworld, where investigations go wrong, arrests turn into bargains, and survival often depends on who you trust. Across two connected adventures, you’ll investigate the Xanathar Guild, navigate Waterdeep’s streets and cells, and learn how power really moves in the City of Splendors. Each session tells a complete story, but together they form a seamless prelude to Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. This game is designed as a low-commitment introduction to Waterdeep and Dragon Heist — no lore homework, no long-term obligation. Characters are created quickly with GM support, and you’ll learn the setting through play. After the second session, the group can choose to continue directly into Waterdeep: Dragon Heist with the same characters and a proper 1-on-1 session zero — or part ways having completed a full story. Continuing is optional and never assumed.

About me

Greetings, adventurers! I'm Saucy, a passionate Dungeon Master excited to bring the magic of Dungeons & Dragons 5e to your gaming table. My journey into the world of D&D started with a fascination for storytelling and a love for collaborative creativity. I've always been captivated by the way this game allows us to create epic tales together, combining intricate plots and exploring vast, fantastical worlds. Why I Started Hosting Games The decision to start hosting games came from my desire to share this incredible experience with others. Seeing players light up when they overcome a challenge, make a clever decision, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of their party is what drives me. I believe D&D is more than just a game; it's a chance to connect, laugh, and grow together, and I want to facilitate those unforgettable moments for you. What Makes Me Different What sets me apart as a DM is my commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging environment for all players, regardless of experience level. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a curious newcomer, you'll find a welcoming space at my table. I take pride in crafting rich, immersive stories tailored to the interests and backgrounds of my players, ensuring everyone feels invested in the narrative. In addition, I emphasize a balance between role-playing, exploration, and combat, catering to diverse playstyles and preferences. My sessions are dynamic and adaptable, offering a mix of thrilling encounters, intriguing mysteries, and meaningful character development. Plus, I'm always eager to incorporate player feedback and ideas, making each campaign a truly collaborative effort. Join me for an adventure filled with excitement, creativity, and unforgettable moments. Let's roll some dice and create legendary stories together!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start at Level 2 and are created with GM support. New players are especially welcome. Before the first session, each player will have a brief 1-on-1 setup chat to quickly build a character, choose a class, and get ready to play with no pressure or prior experience required. Ability scores will use standard array. All official D&D 5e sourcebooks are allowed. After the two-session prelude, players who continue into Waterdeep: Dragon Heist will have a full 1-on-1 Session Zero to further develop backstories, goals, and character connections to the city.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Before the game, players will need to: • Join the game Discord server (link provided after booking) for voice chat and game coordination • Have a working microphone and stable internet connection • Access Foundry VTT through a web browser (no purchase or download required) • Create or import a character with GM assistance prior to Session 1 All links and instructions will be provided ahead of time. A short tech check can be arranged if needed, especially for new players.

What Saucy brings to the table

I provide a guided, welcoming D&D experience designed to be easy to jump into, especially for new players. Expect immersive roleplay, light character voices, and atmospheric music to bring Waterdeep to life. I focus on storytelling, player choice, and momentum over rules mastery, while still keeping the game fair and consistent. Combat is meaningful but not overly tactical, with an emphasis on cinematic moments and creative solutions. I favor the Rule of Cool when it enhances the story, and I’m always happy to explain rules or options as we play. Above all, I aim to create a supportive table where players feel comfortable learning, experimenting, and shaping the story together.

Safety

How Saucy creates a safe table

Before play, I will share a Lines & Veils form for players to set boundaries privately. During the game, we use digital safety tools (X, N, and O) via chat or voice, and players are always free to pause or step away without explanation. Content expectations and tone are reviewed during our 1-on-1 character setup and revisited if the group continues into a full campaign. After intense scenes, I check in to ensure everyone is comfortable before moving on. My goal is to create a respectful, inclusive space where everyone feels safe to engage, learn, and have fun.
