About the adventure

This Game Master Workshop is a hands on session for new and aspiring GMs who want to run better games and feel more confident behind the screen. The focus is practical. No theory dumps, no academic talk. Just tools you can actually use at your table. During these 2 hours, we’ll work through the core skills that make a game memorable. Story, worldbuilding, and the moment to moment decisions that keep a session moving. Whether you’re planning your first campaign or trying to fix games that feel messy or unfocused, this workshop is built to help. We’ll start by looking at game ideas and campaign concepts. How to turn a cool premise into something playable. How to build worlds that support the story instead of burying you in prep. We’ll talk about geography, cultures, religions, factions, and conflicts, but always with one question in mind: how does this create play at the table? This is a collaborative space for GMs who want to improve and take their craft seriously. If you want your games to feel stronger, clearer, and more intentional, this workshop is for you.

About me

Hey! I’m Ninjabear 🐾 — an award-winning storyteller and game master who believes every session should feel like stepping into a living, breathing novel. ✨ My background as a writer (honored with the Fondo del Libro award 📚) gives me a unique spin on worldbuilding. I love weaving layered plots, emotional depth, and shocking twists into every adventure — whether it’s a tense whisper in a moonlit alley 🌙 or the roar of battle across the plains ⚔️. 💖 I specialize in stories that put your character at the center. My style mixes romance, intrigue, and danger — letting players explore their desires, ambitions, and fears in a safe, inclusive space. Every NPC you meet isn’t just a quest-giver — they’ve got histories, secrets, and motives that make the world feel alive, and your choices really matter. 🎲 From sprawling multiverse quests to intimate one-on-one sagas, I design games that are as emotional as they are thrilling. I run both live and play-by-post sessions, blending evocative narration, cinematic pacing, and collaborative storytelling so every player walks away with a tale worth remembering. With me as your DM, you don’t just play a game — you live an adventure. 🚀

Character creation

Creating your character

If you already have a campaign idea, setting, or game you’re working on, bring it. This can be something fully written, half formed notes, or just a rough concept in your head. We’ll use real examples during the workshop, and working with your own material makes the exercises more useful.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You don’t need to do heavy homework for this session, but coming prepared will help you get much more out of it. If you use a VTT (Roll20, Foundry, Owlbear, etc.), have it ready and accessible. You don’t need to run anything live, but being able to reference your maps, notes, or tools will help when we talk about prep, layout, and visual clarity. Bring any props or tools you like to use as a GM. This can include maps, notebooks, random tables, tokens, handouts, music playlists, index cards, or digital notes. If it helps you run games, it’s welcome here. We’ll talk about how to use these tools more effectively rather than just collecting them.

What Ninjabear brings to the table

In this workshop, I provide a safe and respectful space where you can talk openly about any topic related to running games. That includes creative struggles, confidence issues, table problems, or questions you might not feel comfortable asking elsewhere. There is no judgment here, and no pressure to perform or prove anything. This is a learning space built on trust and mutual respect.
