About the adventure

Norrskenheim is a world of survival, mystery and adventure! Based on medieval Sweden and inspired by my favourite 80s dark fantasy movies. You will embark on arduous journeys across the serene landscapes of Norrskenheim, where survival in the wilderness is its own challenge. You will set your own goals and explore them with your trusted adventuring party, following wherever your curiosity leads you. Norrskenheim is a Hexcrawl/ Sandbox /Wilderness Survival game focused on your choices as a player. It is my homebrew setting, using a mixture of published adventures and homebrew adventures. Combat is tactical and roleplay is required. This is a game using the DnD 5e rules from 2014. No 3rd party classes, races, spells or homebrew. Don't bring a pre-made character to session, your experience will be much more enjoyable if you make a character for this specific homebrew setting. I use Roll20 for playing games as well as discord or zoom, if you're more comfortable with that.

About me

Hello everyone! My name is Lennon Hudson, an artist from Canada and fan of everything TTRPG related and have 5 years of my life GMing and playing them! At my table you can expect engaging roleplay and combat, where your actions meaningfully affect the world of the game Everyone is welcome to my table! So, if you're new to TTRPGs don't hesitate about joining a game, I'll show you the ropes! When I'm not working on my games, I spend a lot of my time watching movies, creating art, and going to cafes. Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen in the first session (or session 0). I have some pre-generated characters to choose from using the standard array in the PHB. If you don't want to use a pre-generated character, it's your choice whether you roll for your character or use the standard array. No point buy. Starting level for all PCs is level 1. You can refer to the PHB, Volo's Guide to Monsters or Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. Characters will be created in Roll20.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a Roll20 account, and Discord or Zoom account. I highly suggest joining the Discord server for my game but if that's off the table for some reason, I'd need your email to send you info about the game.

What Lennon brings to the table

This game heavily features exploration and tactical combat. I stick to the rules but am willing to bend them to creative ideas. I reward curiosity and maintain a level of immersion in my games through role-play and music. It is my goal to make sure the choices you make matter in the world of the game and have plausible outcomes.

Homebrew rules

I plan to utilize Dael Kingsmill's Foraging and Potion Making rules as well as her Major Injuries Rules. I'm also using encumbrance, flanking and XP Leveling.

Safety

How Lennon creates a safe table

I have a checklist document I will send out pre-session 0 containing the content of the game that gives you the opportunity to let me know anonymously what not to include. In session 0 we will go over the checklist as a group and promise to adhere to it. During the game I encourage taking breaks and have an open-door policy as well as use X,N and O cards. After a session I do aftercare and a debrief.
