About the adventure

Five years into an armistice that ended a decade of warfare, the threat of renewed conflict looms over the continent of Althas. Five nations in a delicate web of alliances and rivalries seek to exploit the opportunities granted by this period of rapid magical, political, and social change. All five nations deploy agents to strengthen alliances, sabotage foes, and tip the balance of power in their favor. In a Five Banners Burning campaign, you’ll play heroes caught up in the twisting and ever-escalating conflict between nations, contending with competing loyalties, generational grudges, and opportunistic villains.

About me

Hi, I'm Mario, a 29 year old gemini with adhd and an affinity for chaos. I've been playing TTRPGs for the past 7 years and really fell in love with the potential each system has to tell a story. I absolutely enjoy building plots and hooks around my player's characters, weaving everyone's ideas together to create challanges and ultimately rooting for them. I'm a true believer of the rule of cool, sometime the rules can get in the way of fun and that sucks. That said, however, I follow the rules as much as possible. Required behaviors at my tables: > Taking responsibility for yourself and your well-being by properly using safety tools in games. > Speaking only for yourself and your experiences. > Treating all users with compassion and respect, regardless of their experience or identity. > Taking accountability for yourself and your actions after you have done something that caused harm or discomfort to another user (player or GM). > Advocating if someone at the table has done or said something harmful and contacting me directly. > If you have been hurt or made uncomfortable by me or another user, take time to care for yourself and think about the issue at hand before responding; I envourage resolving any issues in private and avoid escalating the conflict. > Respect other participants and use the pronouns they ask you to use when referring to them. We understand that it is easy to make honest mistakes in this regard, but refusing to acknowledge a correction or deliberately misgendering another player is not acceptable. Unacceptable Behaviors at my tables: > Ignoring, arguing against, or deliberately refusing to respect the boundaries set by other members or the safety tools in play. > Deliberate use or promotion of hate speech, death threats, slurs, deadnaming, misgendering, or otherwise disrespectful language (This includes cursing and generally being rude). > Criticism or disparagement of players because of a lack of experience or low level of understanding of the game. > Speaking over GMs or other players, dismissing their contributions to the game without consideration. > Including problematic material in a game without expressly condemning it as wrong or purposefully leaving out content warnings. > No call/no show on a session. Please be respectful of everyone's time.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will start at level 1 and will be using all of the 9 classes in the core rulebook. If you wish to use any playtest material, let me know and we can work someting out. Character creation and bonds will be done together during session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A Demiplane, Discord and Roll20 account is required, alongside a working mic and computer.

What Notorious Scoundrel brings to the table

I do my best to make my games immersive and fun, adding cool visuals and making voices to differentiate characters. I'll provide the core rulebook for Daggerheart through Demiplane and will host our game in Roll20 and Discord.

Safety

How Notorious Scoundrel creates a safe table

Lines and Veils will be discussed in session 0 to protect our game from any uncomfortable situations. The safety deck on Roll20 also adds an additional layer of protection, in case something is said (by me or a player) that you believe can be skipped or paused. Its completely anonymous, but do let me know (directly or through text) what made you uncomfortable so I can address it as needed. Breaks are also very important to me and my games, usually splitting the session in two with a 15 minute breather. However, feel free to step away from the game at any time if you need it, just take the time to let me know. Especially if you're not feeling well. After each session I'll wrap up with our stars and wishes, as well as open up the space to speak up any concern you might have with your experience.
