Creating your character

Character selection or creation will occur during session zero. Players are encouraged to build their characters ahead of time but I am happy to walk through character creation with anyone who needs assistance. There are also 4 premade characters available to anyone who is uncomfortable with character generation. I use Wanderer's Guide to maintain all character build for my campaigns. Preparing for the session

We will use voice and video chat over Discord. Players are required to have a microphone. Please ensure your microphone is functional and intelligible for the comfort of everyone at the table. Do not use your cell phone, for instance. Video chat is optional but highly encouraged. Communication and bonding are exponentially easier when we can see each other. Foundry VTT is run through Molten Hosting. The program is browser based and not terribly hardware demanding, however, it works best on capable laptop or desktop. Avoid using tablets or other devices. What Patrick brings to the table

The most important rule at my table: everyone feels comfortable. The second most important rule at my table: everyone has fun. I find that rule one often leads to rule two. I have years of experience in the table top gaming space and as an professional flight instructor. I am always happy to teach and to learn new things in this incredible hobby. I am dedicated to mastering the PF2E ruleset, but I am also passionate about never letting the rulebooks slow down play or overshadow the "rule of cool." If I have gotten something wrong, please tell me so I can learn from it, but don't be surprised if we table it to discuss between sessions. I am patient, inclusive, and passionate about the magic that these games can inspire. I love nothing more than a table that can make each other cry laughing one moment, and cry over the death of a beloved NPC the next. I bring years of Virtual Table Top gaming experience and a plethora of digital assets to the table to include all artwork, music, sound effects, and tokens. The game will run on a heavily modified version of Foundry VTT with all the bells and whistles. Automation, animation, soundscapes, and numerous other details will enhance the experience.

Homebrew rules

We will use two optional rules: ⏫ Free Archetype - Add a dedication at level 2 without giving up your primary class feat! Countless character customization options await! 📈 Gradual Ability Boost - Gain a boost to your attributes every level instead on all at once. Feel your power grow each time you level up!

How Patrick creates a safe table

Everyone is welcome at my games from any walk of life. Any bigoted or hateful speech will result in immediate removal from the game. This is a safe space for all 🏳️‍🌈LGBTQ+ individuals or any marginalized group. We will conduct a thorough and free Session 0 in order to select or build characters and establish safety expectations. I will outline the anticipated content warnings, lines, and veils for the campaign and players are encouraged to discuss any additional concerns either as a group or with me privately. Additionally, any player may utilize the X Card system to alert me privately to any content they are sensitive to. I run games which are intended to land firmly in the Rated-R area so players should expect as much. Violence, and the consequences of that violence, will often be described in detail. These descriptions will always stop short of being gratuitous and can be dialed to player liking. At no point will any form of sexual assault ever be discussed or presented within this game by the GM or any player. Nor will there be any violence toward children. There may be depictions of suicide, violence, blood, dismemberment, and body horror. Imagine a Rated-R horror movie and you are in the right ball park. I am here to paint a picture, not to be overly edgy or make people uncomfortable. And I do not tolerate edge lords at my tables. Additionally, everything can be tweaked to the players' liking. Just let me know! This campaign is inspired by a mix of Asian cultures. While it leans into many tropes popular in Asian media, particularly horror, I will do my best to never depict character or culture in a stereotypical way. As someone who is not of Asian ancestry, I am always open to feedback to ensure I treat the subject matter with respect.
