About the adventure
Each time God-King Othedias has been defeated, he has returned stronger 13 years later. Three times this cycle has repeated. The world will not survive a fourth. The Gloaming Beasts rain death and destruction wherever they roam. Struggling settlements cling to life, crumbling from within as Plague, famine, and despair ravage what little hope remains. And yet - in the midst of this darkness, champions of the dawn emerge. These brave souls venture into the shadows, searching for a path back to the light. It is only through your actions that the world can be put to right before all is lost. _________________________________________________________ Phew! That was heavy. Hi! I'm Paul, and I'll be your Game Master as you venture into the Halcyon Domain to save those you love from a fate worse than death. Sorry, I'm doing it again. Listen - I swear I'm a pretty chill guy! It's just that it's my job to take you into the doomed world of the Halcyon Domain and guide you through the process of bringing it back into the light. That's going to get intense, but I promise that we'll have a lot of fun along the way. What I can't promise is that the character you start with will be the same one you end the campaign with. I mean - it's the Age of Umbra... these things happen! It's not personal. I've put my own spin on the excellent Age of Umbra campaign frame to make it more suitable for a long-form campaign rather than the amazing mini-series from Critical Role. The nebulous "Umbra" still exists of course, but its existential threat is a lot more... personal. If any of this sounds interesting, or if the posted days and times don't work for you, please join our Discord Server and send me a message! Link: https://discord.gg/G3r4kxtquQ

About me
Looking for an epic tabletop role-playing gaming experience? Look no further! Hi there, I'm Paul, and I've been playing TTRPGs for 21 years — 6 of which as a Game Master. I specialise in D&D 5th Edition, though I'm also open to other systems. No matter what you're looking for — tales of story and adventure or high-intensity combat — you can trust me to make sure that you get exactly the experience you desire. I take pleasure in adding depth and personalisation to my gaming sessions by tying in characters' backstories within quests. Your satisfaction will always be my top priority and I will work with you to ensure that each session exceeds your expectations!

Creating your character
Players can create characters via Demiplane.com (which also gives access to the Void content). My unlocked content will be shared with players. If you'd prefer not to use demiplane, a pdf character sheet is also acceptable. Once we have our starting players assembled, we'll have a Session Zero where we build characters and expand on the world together.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need: - Free Roll20 Account. - Free Discord Account. - A decent internet connection. - A decent headset. - Free Demiplane Account (optional). - Three NPCs that your character cares about (optional). - A character that wants to change the world (not optional). - A desire to work together with the other players (not optional).
What Paul Merlin brings to the table
Primarily: The opportunity to take a festering world and re-forge it into something better. I can share the core rulebook on demiplane so there's no need to buy the book yourself. I also incorporate background music on roll20. I love incorporating player backstory moments and following the "Rule of Cool" wherever it leads us. This campaign will feature a high amount of combat due to the nature of the world, but there will also be a high amount of Role Playing, Social Interaction, and Exploration.
Homebrew rules
Content from The Void will be allowed once it integrates will with the setting and your character's backstore. Other homebrew will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The campaign may also incorporate mechanics from other Campaign Frames such as Beast Feast and Colossus of the Drylands.
