Welcome to the Jungle - Chult Edition

There's plenty of treasure to plunder in the jungles of Chult, just watch out for the zombie dinosaurs, those are bad.

About the adventure

Session 0 and Session 1 are free. This will be a game focused on a hex crawl exploration of the jungles of Chult. Even if you've played Tomb of Annihilation before, there's a lot of places to explore. The sessions are meant to be light and breezy, with newcomers welcome. All tools for character creation are provided in Foundry and we will be using the 2024 PHB.

About me

I have been GMing for over 30 years. I regularly run full games at conventions and play online with my friends. I enjoy D&D, Forged in the Dark games and Pathfinder, among many others. I am also on the board of directors for Rising Phoenix Game Con which just celebrated it's 4th year (risingphoenixgamecon.com).

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using the 2024 PHB for character creation. Characters can role (on Foundry) or use the standard array. Characters can be any class/ancestry in the PHB and start at level 1. This can be done during a free session 0.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need Discord and a microphone.

What Matt brings to the table

Focus for my games is fun. Typically we stick to rules as written, but sometimes it's Rule of Cool or whatever seems fair at the time. Sessions are meant to be fun escapism, usually with some combination of roleplay, investigation and combat. The nature of this module is an open world hex crawl with various open world encounters and dungeons to explore. I provide voices, ambient music and sound effects. I will provide Foundry accounts for my Foundry server. The Foundry server has all of the licensed D&D content needed for character creation/advancement.

How Matt creates a safe table

We'll discuss it all in Session 0. X cards are my go-to for a tool at the table and those can be DMed directly if needed or spoken aloud if that's comfortable.
