About the adventure
This one is for fans of Brandon Sanderson. Set on Ashyn before humanity fled to Roshar, play the end of the conflict between Odium and Honor on that planet when they learned that powers unbound were too dangerous for humanity to hold. You'll start in training for the military, and you'll have access to the surges without the oaths if you wish, but there won't be spren, so no shards. Beginners to the RPG are more than welcome, but it's best if you have a background in Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere.

About me
I'm a writer and a teacher, and I've been playing Dungeons and dragons for more than ten years, and most of that time has been as a GM for my friends. I've played a few systems (3.5, 5e, Mistborn, Planet Mercenary, Alien RPG, Avatar Legends) and just love the collaborative story telling of TTRPGs. As a GM my campaigns are usually very story focused, and tend toward the "epic fantasy" genre. As such I usually run long term campaigns, but I have done some shorter things as well and am more than willing to do shorter 1 or 2 session games. I believe I help make the game beginner friendly when appropriate, and I pay attention to the players for cues as to where they want to go and what they want to explore and do more. I use Discord primarily for digital games, though I've experimented a little with roll20 and playrole as well. I've recently begun integrating music and sound effects into my campaigns, and I'm working on adding more maps and visual aides as well. Many of the settings and stories I use are based on the books I write. Feel free to share the experiences with your friends, but keep in mind that the details are under copyright.

Creating your character
I'm glad to help you make a character before our first session. You can use physical or digital character sheets, or the demiplane character creator, whatever works best for you. It's fine to consider what surges you want to have access to, but you won't be radiants in the same way as on Roshar.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a Discord account, and a way to use voice chat. A demiplane account is helpful but not necessary. Access to the rule books is also helpful, but I have them and can help you with that part if you need as well.
What Aeremor brings to the table
I prioritize having fun and telling a good story. We'll usually go back and forth between sessions focused on action, followed by sessions focused on roleplay. I like to give the players freedom to explore their characters and the world even as we tell a cohesive story together.
Homebrew rules
I'll ask you to pick a tragedy, not just a purpose like the system calls for. Then I'll ask you to choose an obsession based on your tragedy and purpose. This is so to give you some extra guidance about how to roleplay, and if your obsession increases too much you might be overwhelmed by it.

How Aeremor creates a safe table
I will send you a comfort worksheet to fill out where you can indicate the types of things you are uncomfortable having in the game. Otherwise, you will have a private channel in the discord server where you can let me know if something comes up that is bothering you.
