About the adventure
Welcome to the sun-burnt frontier of Ordanence, where your destiny begins not with a celebration, but in tragedy. You are a Level 1 survivor, now thrust into a land that demands grit, wits, and a quick hand. Your journey to beautiful beaches and relaxation ended abruptly. The luxury airship you were bound for has been violently brought down, leaving you amidst the wreckage of a twisted, smoking carcass. Now, you must claw your way out of the debris and carve a name out of dust, gunpowder, and arcane secrets. This is the dawn of your true life. You start with nothing but the clothes on your back, lost in an uncharted desert where survival is the first and hardest victory. The Ordanence Wastes await you... The dunes hide more than just sand. Lost clockwork constructs and forbidden relics wait expectantly, promising power or ruin. Scavengers drool at the sight of the airship's debris, and bandits patiently wait to strike weakened survivors for their treasures. Through this campaign, you will experience gritty roleplay that tests your moral fiber, tense duels where the fastest draw wins, and cinematic combat that will leave you breathless. Find your way, or become just another forgotten shadow in the scorching dust.

About me
Hi there! I’m Richard Cameron, a veteran Game Master and Executive Director of Role Player, a North Carolina nonprofit that uses tabletop storytelling to build community and creativity. I’ve been running games for over a decade across multiple systems, focusing on immersive stories, memorable characters, and player-driven choices that make every table feel alive. I have been telling stories and writing narratives for even longer. I graduated with a degree in English with focuses in Journalism (I was the editor-in-chief for my college newspaper) and Creative Writing. Telling stories and crafting narratives are something I find important. I specialize in creating games that balance narrative depth and approachable fun. Whether it’s introducing new players to the magic of roleplaying or giving veterans a fresh challenge. My tables are inclusive, collaborative, and flexible to player comfort and tone. Expect laughter, emotion, and a story that responds to your decisions in real time. I regularly run and teach: Daggerheart Pathfinder 2E Starfinder 2E Avatar Legends and (when requested) D&D 5E If you’re looking for a session that feels more like shared storytelling than a scripted quest, I’d love to have you at my table. Whether you’re here for a one-shot or a long-term campaign, adventure awaits; wherever there’s a table.

Creating your character
All characters begin at Level 1. The adventure begins immediately before the airship crash and what follows. You will start with minimal gear after the wreckage (mostly scavenged clothes and basic supplies). Session 0 is a paid session dedicated to character creation. We will work together during this time to finalize character sheets, discuss backgrounds, and interweave your histories to ensure a cohesive party narrative. Depending on the time spent on creation and collaboration, Session 1 may begin during this time depending on length of character creation/safety conversations. All Paizo Official Sourcebooks (Core Rulebook, Secrets of Magic, Guns & Gears, etc.) are allowed. We encourage having a general idea for your character before coming in, but being open to change and refinement if it doesn't fit the narrative/group dynamics.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players need a working laptop or desktop computer and access to a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.) to smoothly access Foundry VTT (our Virtual Tabletop). Discord is required for voice chat and out-of-session communication. Within a few hours of signing up, you will be invited to a private Discord server specifically for this game.
What Richard D Cameron III brings to the table
am a Player-Forward GM who builds the world, but your decisions shape the story and the tone. While the setup is tense, you have the freedom to turn this into a heroic saga, a serious survival drama, or even a comedy if your choices lead that way! I prioritize cinematic description, strong character voices, and player agency. I reward tactical combat and always encourage clever roleplay solutions. The game will feature ambient Western and cinematic music to immerse you in the Ordanence desert. Digital maps and tokens (We will use 2 minute-tabletop assets mostly) to visualize the desert, the wreckage, and the dangerous foes you'll face.
Homebrew rules
Standard Pathfinder Second Edition Rules apply. We will discuss any optional or third-party rules in Session 0 to ensure that they are agreed upon by the whole group, but no homebrew changes are assumed before then.

Safety
How Richard D Cameron III creates a safe table
Player comfort is paramount. We will dedicate part of our Session 0 to discussing boundaries and expectations. We use the Lines and Veils tool, shared via a Google Form pre-session, to establish content players do not want in the game (Lines) or content they want handled with care (Veils). We also utilize the X-Card (digital via Discord chat) as an emergency stop tool for any uncomfortable content that comes up during play. After difficult sessions, we will have a cooldown period where we can discuss privately or openly to ensure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable experience.
