About the adventure

We’ll be starting with the adventure from the PF2e Beginner Box, Menace Under Otari: a low-level dungeon adventure set beneath the quiet fishing town of Otari. Something strange is stirring under the old lumberyard; goblins have gone missing, eerie lights are flickering in the dark, and townsfolk whisper about strange voices echoing up from the ancient stone halls below. The party is hired to investigate, uncover the truth, and descend into forgotten ruins where old traps, restless spirits, and deadly monsters still linger. I'm a newbie GM (and a newbie TTRPGs player), so this game is welcoming to complete beginners to Pathfinder 2e and TTRPGs in general. I’ll teach rules at the table, help onboard you into Foundry VTT, and keep the pace steady so everyone has time to learn how their character works. After we finish the Beginner Box, the group will vote: end there, or continue into something like Kingmaker or Troubles in Otari. The goal is to form a stable weekly group, explore PF2e together, and have fun discovering what this system can do "as a crew of adventurers who grew into heroes side-by-side".

About me

I’m a brand-new DM, so the first few sessions might be a little bumpy as I get the hang of things. That said, I’m excited to learn, improve, and do my best to create a fun adventure for everyone.

Character creation

Creating your character

We’ll discuss character creation together in Session 0. You can make your own PC or choose a pre-gen. We’ll build level 1 characters using the Core rules and Beginner Box options.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Join the Discord before Session 0 so I can assign you a private channel. You’ll also get the FoundryVTT link once the table is confirmed. No downloads needed as Foundry runs in your browser. Optional: skim the Pathfinder 2E Beginner Box Player Booklet (PDF is free online).

What Lews brings to the table

I bring a welcoming, patient teaching style. We will go step-by-step and explain mechanics as they come up. My goal is to make this a safe place to learn PF2e rules, ask questions, and get comfortable with tactical combat. I use ambient music, maps, tokens, and theater-of-the-mind when helpful.

Homebrew rules

The Beginner Box plays mostly RAW. Only light table rules: • If something’s confusing, we pause + clarify • Bonus for cool stunts, clever plans • If we make a ruling fast, we can revise it later after the session

Safety

How Lews creates a safe table

Session 0 will include a brief check-in on comfort levels and any lines/veils. I commit to creating a respectful table where questions are welcome, and no one is pressured to role-play beyond their comfort zone.
