About the adventure
Welcome to Freeman’s Bay, the drifting city of outlaws, exiles, and dreamers. Built from a hundred ships lashed together and left to ride the currents, the Bay is the largest pirate haven in Tarranto Cove. But with Pirate King Lorenzo gone on a dangerous expedition, the city is left in the hands of underlings too weak to hold it together. Power is up for grabs, and chaos brews beneath the creaking planks. In this campaign, you’ll set sail into a world of shifting alliances, daring raids, and anarchist politics. One day you might be brokering a deal between rival captains, the next you’re boarding an enemy frigate in the middle of a storm, and the day after that you’re hunting sea monsters for a hungry market. The Bay is alive with opportunity... if you’re bold enough to take it. This game is designed for any level of player experience. If you’re new to Dungeons & Dragons, you’ll find the setting easy to grasp, with clear motivations and plenty of room to explore. If you’re a veteran, you’ll discover layers of intrigue, dangerous enemies, and space to scheme, conquer, or build your own pirate legacy. Whether you want to carve a reputation as swashbucklers, build a pirate fleet, or uncover the secrets of Pirate King Lorenzo’s vanished expedition, Freeman’s Bay offers a living, breathing sandbox for adventurers who love saltwater, freedom, and danger. The seas are open, the Bay is yours but the question is how far will you rise before the tide pulls you under?

About me
Howdy, I’m Alexander! I’ve been telling stories my whole life even starting as a kid making up tales for my family, and later finding one of my favorite storytelling mediums in Dungeons & Dragons. I’ve been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years now. Over that time, I’ve guided players through official modules, but my proudest project has been building my own living world: The Realms of Yether. Yether is a shared setting where multiple campaigns take place on the same continent, and the choices of one group can ripple out to affect others. Some campaigns have been running for over four years, and as of late 2025, Yether is finally stepping out of its prologue stage and entering Act 1. Watching the world grow alongside the players has been an unforgettable experience. Outside of D&D, I recently graduated from college and am now pursuing a teaching certificate in my state. I love combining my passion for storytelling with education, finding ways to inspire creativity and curiosity in others. D&D has become my biggest passion and creative outlet, and I’m always excited to share adventures, challenges, and laughs with new players. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, I want to create memorable stories that feel personal, epic, and fun. ==================================================== Available Campaigns The following are campaigns that even if none are listed in time slots, I am capable and willing to organize and run for a group. If a campaign isn't among this list and you would like me to personally organize a campaign idea you have in mind for a group, you may message me in order to give me the details of how we would go about doing so. Please message me if you want more information or have any questions regarding any of them. Freeman's Bay Overturn With the Pirate King gone Freemans Bay drifts in chaos. Move forward like a shark. Welcome to Freeman’s Bay Overturn You’re about to set sail into the lawless waters of Freeman’s Bay, a sprawling city of ships where pirates, exiles, and dreamers clash for survival and glory. With the Pirate King gone, the Cove is ripe for new legends to rise and the tides are shifting faster than any captain can steer. Will you claim power among the waves, forge your own legend, or be swallowed by the depths? Getting Started To prepare, you’ll need to message me in order to join both of our game spaces: Please make sure you have access to both before our first session. Bring your imagination, your sea legs, and maybe a bit of rum, and get ready for a campaign full of scheming captains, dangerous seas, and opportunities to make your mark on Tarranto Cove. This campaign will test your wit, loyalty, and courage as you chart your course through betrayal, freedom, and fortune on the open sea. About the World This campaign takes place within the Living World of the Realms of Yether. A Living World means that both past player characters and other campaigns exist at the same time as yours within the same universe. Some may be closer; others may be far away. If their stories connect to yours, their actions may shape your world. Just as yours might shape theirs. I hope you enjoy your time in the Realms of Yether. Welcome to the crew. Let’s make legends together and see whose name the tides remember.
What Alexander of Yether (DM Ultra) brings to the table
I enjoy giving characters individual voices Through discord bot I am able to use music and ambiance I enjoy letting players come up with creative situations and solutions I have been working on the Realms of Yether for the past 10 or so years, originating as an idea before I knew about dnd and now it is a world that has been played in for the past years by different players in different campaigns.
Homebrew rules
System: 2014 x 2025 5e. Yes I use a number of things from both systems of 2014 and 2025, however as I haven't had the time to read through everything in 2025 yet it is primarily centered around 2014. I do not have enough text to write down all the differences or what I did not take from 2025 5e, so please do ask as for an example I like the martials weapon system but I do not like the new druid wildshape feature so I use the 2025 weapon property system but I still use the 2014 druid wildshape. There are more but I do not have enough space to write it all, please ask if there are any instances or if it becomes relivant. Origins and Sub-Origins On top of your choice of race, class, background, you also gain an Origin and Suborigin. Origin is where you are from, either born raised or trained. You can have an origin from a place you aren't currently living but you must at one time live there. Consult the document that I will provide, there is the core origin [maolive, perven, piraza, taranto] and the sub origin [cities, towns, terretories] Martial Checks When in combat you have a free action that you can use once on your turn to attempt to identify an ability, feature, potential action, or surrounding phenomena that is relating to your current combat encounter that is tied to an enemy or the environment. The basic skill used for this check is Insight, but other skills are allowed based on the situation. (EX. using Arcana when fighting a mage type enemy). Heroic Clash A Heroic Clash is a high-stakes confrontation between player characters and an enemy of significant narrative and mechanical power. Only foes with major influence on the story or the world of the campaign can initiate or be challenged in a Clash. Don't expect this to occur during low levels. What Is a Clash? A Clash is a direct contest of power, will, and narrative stakes, resolved through a mix of roleplay and mechanics. During a Clash, both sides push their limits, risking severe consequences depending on how wide the gap is between their successes. Clashes comes in multiple forms but the main two are: Martial Clash: raw physical force, technique, and weapons. Magic Clash: arcane, divine, or supernatural power colliding head-on. Triggering a Clash A Clash can only occur when: An appropriately powerful enemy is present, and A narrative or mechanical threshold is met which usually through a roleplay moment, a dramatic declaration, a triggered ability, or a significant mechanical interaction.

How Alexander of Yether (DM Ultra) creates a safe table
In the session 0 we will go over what to expect, what to do if something you do not wish to experience is occurring and I wasn't made aware of it (how to whisper me), how hard topics will be handled or if anyone tries to make any hard topics an issue (sexual or gruesome violence), and lastly finding out if you have anything that needs to be addressed. If hard topics such as rape or torture are brought up, the most detail that we would go into is 'fade to black.' I also consider a line making other players do things. This cannot be done in game. You cannot persuade someone to kill themselves as an example. After about 2-3 hours I tend to encourage a short break. I would note that the X,N,O system is used and can be messaged to me or in the roll20 chat. Feel free to bring up anything you think or feel about what is going on in order to make things clear. Tell me and I will listen to you. I always want to improve the game so just let me know.
