About the adventure

🌟🌟 !This is a beginner-friendly adventure! 🌟🌟 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ Queer and Neurodivergent Friendly 🧶🔍 This is a Homebrew one-shot designed for brand-new players and those looking to dip their toes into the hobby. No experience is required, and help will be offered all along the way- from building a character to rolling to kill monsters. 🌟🌟🌟 In the middle of a gentle night, as owls crested treetops and raccoons came out to find their late evening breakfasts, a thunderous crash shattered the natural peace- those who live in the region bolted from bed to watch as a mighty flame engulfed the woodlands around them, a lone streak of ephemeral blue filled the night sky as it marked the descent of something massive into the heart of the forest. They rumored, gossiped amongst themselves that what they witnessed must have been a divine meteor come for them- or maybe it was the trickery of hermit mages playing with forces they didn't understand. It was only when morning came that the strangest truth was revealed- It was a library, massive and almost Alexandrian-like in age, which had fallen from the night sky and made impact- littering the forest floor in both esoteric knowledge and otherworldly destruction. Now, weeks later, adventurers, scholars, conquerors, and monsters flock to the site- all for their own reasons... 🌟🌟🌟 Within this adventure, expect to develop character themes, solve uniquely strange puzzles, battle esoteric creatures, and dive into the mystery of the fallen Library. All Battle maps and Scenery are created by me, and no AI will be used at any point in the process. Players will be making characters starting at 2nd Level, as this provides a depth of capabilities for all characters! We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014), and players may use any officially published material in character creation. (Published or Licensed by Wizards of the Coast) I am a narrative-first DM! This means that I prioritize the development of the narrative and story through gameplay- this may come in the form of both Roleplay and Combat, meaning you will experience both within this adventure! If you are not comfortable with Role-playing or discover that you are uncomfortable with it in play, that is okay! That does not mean your character will not have their own themes or stories that unfold with everyone.

About me

Hello! I am a Queer, 18+ GM, who has been running games since I was Twelve-Years old, and absolutely obsessed with telling stories! The ultimate fun comes from crafting a wonderful story for your friends and allowing them to relish in the emotions- my worlds are crafted both for and from those around me. I love teaching brand-new Players all about the games in which we play, and absolutely everyone is welcome at the table!

Character creation

Creating your character

Players may choose to either make their own 2nd Level Character before the game or choose a pregenerated character at the start of the session. Players may use a physical sheet, a virtual sheet through Roll20, or an automated service such as DND Beyond for character creation. Stats are determined using Standard Array. We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014), and players may use any officially published material in character creation. (Published or Licensed by Wizards of the Coast)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The game will be run using Roll20 (an online Virtual Tabletop)- while communicating through a Discord Server! Meaning players should have an Account created for both platforms. I utilize Discord Bots to play atmospheric music, which adapts to the tone of the game as it changes- while also being adjustable for each player according to their preferences.

What Ry brings to the table

I am a narrative-first DM! Personally, I use cinematic language and character voices to describe and play through scenes- highlighting themes and controlling tension through narration. Players are not expected to mimic my style, and are welcome to engage as they see fit.
