About the adventure
Thousands of years ago, the nascent demon lord, Treerazer, was banished to Golarion and defeated by the elves of Kyonin. A twice-defeated coward, the fiend was left to rot and fester in what remained of his tainted territory now known as the Tanglebriar. Today, Queen Telandia Edasseril has hand-selected you to represent Kyonin at the Encarthan Summit. Following a number of undead disturbances along the shores of the great Lake Encarthan, it becomes clear that the nations which border it must come together once more, calming the turmoil that swept across them in the wake of the Whispering Tyrant's return six years prior. Politics are never simple however, and before the various delegates can cease their bickering, tragedy strikes, a tragedy with world-shaking implications. Spore War is a campaign which sees players navigating the tense political environment of Avistan following the Godsrain as they begin at level 11. As Treerazer, reveals the terrible extent of his machinations, the party must grow to meet that challenge, guiding the fate of a grand war against demonic armies, and as level 20 fully-realized heroes, ultimately face off against his fiendish might themselves in order to banish him once and for all. Do you have what it takes to break the mold?

About me
Not to sound too cliche right off the bat, but I just really love games, y'all. I started at a way-too-crowded D&D table of rowdy teenagers back in high school, cut my teeth on freeform forum roleplay, and made my way back to tabletop games in college. Since then I've met so many amazing people, made so many incredible memories, and had so much fun exploring this interesting and innovative space. I just want to keep doing that and share this hobby that I love so much with more people. So let's craft stories together! One of my favorite things to do as a GM is to turn dials and tweak campaign details to center the player characters and their stories, to really tie them into the world of the adventure. I want to see your characters have dramatic, fulfilling arcs. I want to see them struggle and overcome adversity, and while failure is always an option, it should be a chance to tackle things from a different angle. I'm the president of your character's fan club, but also the heel that will needle them so we can all cheer when they win. I always strive to bring a high level of system mastery to my games. Forget a rule? No problem, we're all always learning, and my brain loves to hold onto minutia like that. Can it remember the birthdays of my loved ones? Nope, gotta save space for the fact that you can drown someone back to life in Dungeons and Dragons 3e. I'm part of the Chicano, neurodivergent, and LGBTQ+ communities, so it's important to me that my table always be a safe place for everyone regardless of race, ability, gender, orientation, age, religion, etc. We don't tolerate intolerance here.

Creating your character
During Session 0, we'll go over character concepts as a group. Feel free to come with something in mind or feel it out with everyone else. Given the themes of the Adventure Path, you are highly encouraged to play a character who has elven heritage or is otherwise invested in elven affairs. Characters will begin at level 11, and will have access to the Free Archetype and Gradual Ability Boost variant rules. Any Uncommon character options will need to be run by me for approval. Rare options will require buy-in from the whole group as they can have significant implications for the narrative.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A working microphone and free Discord account will be needed for voice chat. No other programs or accounts are necessary as the game will be hosted on Foundry. The link to my Discord server will be handed out once you join the game and the Foundry link will be there in a pinned message. Previous experience with the system is not required, though keep in mind that at these high levels, your character will have a number of feats and fetures to keep track of.
What Michael brings to the table
• A Foundry server to hold character sheets and player notes and handle dice rolls • The official Foundry modules for the adventure path, featuring high quality maps and curated audio tracks • A private Discord server for voice chat, out-of-game discussion, and color commentary • A fan club for your characters and the stories we'll tell together

Safety
How Michael creates a safe table
My top priority as GM is to make sure everyone at the table has a safe and comfortable time. To that end, we'll discuss potential lines, veils, or other fraught topics, along with the available safety tools, together as part of our Session 0. While difficult topics may come up in-game, my tables have a zero tolerance policy for any real life racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, misogyny, or any other form of bigotry. Such behavior will result in immediate removal from the game.
