About the adventure
Stillwater is a quiet town; the kind that hums when the power lines buzz at night. But if you tune your radio just right, you’ll find 89.3FM: a station that plays songs no one remembers recording and confessions that come true. You’re teenagers, but not like everyone else. You’re monsters, hiding in plain sight; vampires, witches, ghosts, and more. Your secrets are carefully buried beneath homework, gossip and half-truths. The static is listening, though, and it knows more than it should. In this Monsterhearts 2 campaign, your emotions, your fears, and even your darkest desires fuel the world around you. Being a teenager is hard, messy, and most of the time you feel like your monstrous side rules over you the most. Small-town drama collides with supernatural horror as you navigate friendships, love, and the growing dread that the broadcast isn’t just telling stories… It’s shaping reality. This adventure is inspired by The Magnus Archives, Welcome To Nightvale, and Life Is Strange. Your secret isn’t safe. It is already midnight. Are you listening?

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi I’m Maddy! I’m a TTRPG Content Creator and professional Actual Play Game Master and Player. I’ve been working in this industry full time for the past 3-4 years and I would love to play with you! I’m a Game Master who specialises in roleplay and exploring who your character is amongst a world of mayhem. I’m ALWAYS down to clown and ready to hear your most crazy and creative ideas! I believe in facilitating a game that lets each of my player’s strengths and creativity shine. Lets play x "Maddy is by far one of the most talented Game Masters I've ever met. She works carefully with individual players to root them in the world before the game starts, and ensures that everyone has the chance to experience unique little details that are personalised to them. Plus her design and potrayal of NPCs is unparalleled, and makes the world feel real. It's a priviledge to have been at her table." - Diana (@dianaoftherose)

Creating your character
Character creation will happen during our first session. I call it “first session” rather than “session 0” because, while we’ll cover all the usual session 0 prep, there’s a lot of worldbuilding to do for a Monsterhearts 2 campaign. Before that session, I’ll send you all the Skins and the rulebook so you can familiarise yourself with your options. You’re welcome to look through them ahead of time, but don’t worry; a lot of the details will come together during our session. We’ll be using custom character sheets that I’ll provide, and any additional backstory or ideas can be sent to me through our Discord server. Monsterhearts is a highly collaborative game, which means the players are not just creating characters; you’re helping to build the story and the world together.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need to be able to join the Discord server, but apart from that, this will be a largely simple process. You’ll need a working microphone and camera, as this will be a very high roleplay game. I’ll send the Skins and rulebook ahead of time so you can explore your options before our first session.
What Maddy (Maddaloon) brings to the table
I will provide the rulebook and the skins, along with a few of the other releases of skins as well. I'll be using a lot of background music, some recorded lines and a lot of fun improv. This system doesn't really have extensive combat mechanics, so expect a lot of roleplay and flavour. It will feel different to TTRPGs like D&D and Pathfinder.

Safety
How Maddy (Maddaloon) creates a safe table
Monsterhearts 2 requires extensive safety talks and plenty of safety tools. Unlike other TTRPGs; this module explores what it is like to be a teenager with no control over your emotions, body and people's power over you. This means it plays with a certain lack of player agency (in a very cool way). There is plenty of negotiation at the table, but this module explores social hierarchy and the messy lives of a teen. We will have our session zero, lines and veils and aftercare. A lot of trust and clear communication is required in this game, as it often becomes highly emotional and vulnerable. If this sounds like fun, then it is perfect for you!
