About the adventure

This Pathfinder 2e campaign, taking players from levels 1-20 over biweekly 3-4 hour sessions, delves into a grievous conspiracy unfolding from the heart of the Nation of the Dead. Expect high-stakes missions, manipulative nobles, and the chance to rise—or fall—among the deadliest of courts. Create a unique character, meet the factions and faces of Geb, choose your alliances, and rise to rule, or destroy? As your GM, I blend theatrical storytelling, dramatic dialogue, and immersive roleplay with moments of dark humor and cinematic combat. The campaign is built for mature players (25+) who enjoy character-driven narratives and the freedom to influence a living—or unliving—world. Sessions run on Foundry VTT, featuring custom Hero Forge tokens, detailed maps, and a finely tuned setup for smooth, engaging play. Whether you’re a Pathfinder veteran or a newcomer, this is a dark, evolving story where ambition never dies.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created before session 0, where we will discuss choices, answer final questions, and finalize creation before session 1. I will provide a link to a copy of the Blood Lords Players Guide for assistance and can answer any questions or schedule a time to help create characters or chat so you can get to know your GM. We will be using Pathbuilder 2e for official character sheets which will be imported into Foundry VTT.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have an account with The Forge VTT as well as Pathbuilder. I will also have a dedicated Discord server for the campaign.

What Kyle - Art of Ruin RPG brings to the table

I bring a style of GMing that mixes narrative storytelling with player driven action and consequence. Decisions made in game will influence how the story shapes out, and nothing is truly written in stone. NPC's will have voices, there will be ambiance, jokes, and mirth aplenty. I stick pretty close to the rules to allow the dice to also tell a story, though certain narrative aspects can affect gameplay in unexpected ways. Players can expect a tactical challenge in combat, collaborative storytelling mixed with GM/AP narrative, and a story we all create together.

Homebrew rules

I mix in some, but little homebrew. I like to give players some wiggle room to express themselves creatively through their characters and if that includes some things that aren't listed in a book, we can usually make something happen.

Safety

How Kyle - Art of Ruin RPG creates a safe table

Session 0 is a huge part of any long term campaign. Here, we will set the tone, expectations, and any content or discussion that any player feels shouldn't be touched. Depending on a player/character's involvement in any particular part of the story, I'll check in through a DM to make sure players are hanging in there. Some sessions can bring out some serious emotion if the scene is set right and the roleplay is there. I want my players to be able to engage in this and know that the other players, and the GM, have their back.
