About the adventure
Arinael, the Goddess of Light, once held a temple dedicated to justice and the cleansing of darkness itself. In this temple, trials were held to find worthy warriors and adventurers that could wield her powers for good. Many who stepped into the temple to try their luck and skill never returned, but those worthy or the Goddess' blessing emerged victorious and were gifted artifacts of power — or so legends say. You overhear a bard within the Distracted Rat Tavern speak of this legend: "It’s true! Tomorrow night, the air will be clear, and the full moon will be bright. The ruins are barely there, but it’s what’s below that is important. Into the woods at dusk, find your way due North for 2 miles and due East for 3 if you are daring enough for the trials of Arinael!" Will you be worthy heroes fit for the Goddess' blessing? Or shall you perish along the way...

About me
Greetings! Name's Henry :) I've been DMing for about 5 years now, and came to the conclusion I really do adore this hobby. So I figured "Hey, why not try to do it professionally?" and here we are. I'll try to give you the best tabletop experience I can offer, and try to accomodate to your needs. Creating your character
Character creation will be done within the Foundry system. We'll keep all character details and equipment within the game, but you're free to write down other character details on things like DND Beyond and the like. This one-shot is 2nd level, and you're free to utilize all official DND 5e materials (As long as you run them by me first and as long as they are made using 2014 5e rules) We'll also be utilizing modified Point Buy rules to create your characters. Point Buy works by giving you a number of points you can assign to your array of stats, which all start at 8. We're making the following change to regular Point Buy: Instead of 27 points, you get 35, with a max increase of up to 18 and a decrease of 6 on each stat. Use this website (https://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html#customrace&NA&8&8&8&8&8&8&0&0&35&18&6&19&15&12&9&7&5&4&3&2&1&0&1&2&4&6&9&4&4&4&4&4&4) to calculate your point buy stats. (Check the number on the bottom right corner. If it exceeds 35/35, then you're out of points. Don't select your race at the top if you've already got one in mind, as this website uses an outdated way of adding racial bonuses. What Henry brings to the table
I use Foundry VTT for the game. The map is made by the wonderful MAD Cartographer, as well as the assets within. I generally enjoy roleplay, which is why I've tried to include some of it in this dungeon crawl. Past that, I am very lenient in my DMing style to player input and ideas, so feel free to be creative and think outside the box whenever possible! I utilize voices for characters and ambient music to set the scene. I'll try to keep combat fair, since this is mostly an introductory game. I will be giving you a challenge, but allowing you to make mistakes and learn from them so you are more comfortable with the system.
Homebrew rules
Most spells we will utilize will be the 2024 versions of them, in spite of using 2014 rules for classes and abilities. You can drink a healing potion as an action or a bonus action. If drank as an action, you heal the maximum amount the potion can heal you without needing to roll. When drinking it as a bonus action, you roll for healing as normal.
