About the adventure

This Is a game for Intermediate players and up. If any new players are interested I will do my best to guide you without taking time away from more experienced players. Campaign Description: Set in the polar north in the world of Mehr An-Ki lies a settlement in the continent of Haust, under the shadow of The Iron Mountain. Summer is constant day, and Winter is constant night. Haust is only frozen and cold half of the year, but it is in the deep winter when the rumors start. Some call them ghosts, others spirits or Eidolons. Whatever they may be, they are not people. The Banyshers claim the dead can become tethered to the world of the living when whoever mourns them and grieves refuses to let them go. A husband refusing to let them memory of his wife go could unintentionally bind the memory of her soul to him. Trapped in a place with no escape the consumes his life force to remain. So it was even more concerning for some when a hunter came back and said he saw not the Eidolon of a person long past, but that of a forest. A whole ecosystem forgotten by time, but not by the land, and not by everyone. Will you venture out into the Ancient Wyllt and see what unknowns you may uncover? Do you venture forth out of curiosity? Do you seek untold riches and fortune? Are you looking to strike out on your own? Do you adventure out of duty to those you wish to protect? Either way, the land with meet you. Will you find hidden gods? Ignoble fiends? Tricksy Fey? Or creatures never seen by eyes of this era? Only one way to find out. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy then please give it a shot!

Character creation

Creating your character

Before the session starts I will tell you what races can or cannot be used in the setting. We will have a session 0 where we can create our characters. We'll get their stats done using point buy and also figure out their relation to the other party members. Players are welcome to use online character sheets or physical ones. You are allowed to start at any level between 1 and 3.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Mics will be needed during the session on discord. At least mics attached to some good headphones. Webcam is encouraged but not required. Have access to writing materials because notes are important. Also I encourage the use of Roll 20 and DnDWikiDot for spell and class/species info.

What TheWanderingEmmanuel brings to the table

I Have the source books from DnD5e (2014) and I have the Dm's guide and player's handbook for the 2024 edition as well as other sourcebooks. If you guys to check things out from those books and don't have them yourself I would love to help you out. As for my DMing style I do use rule of cool with some limits. I have a bot on discord that can add ambient music. I also try my best to do voices, I encourage, but you are under no obligation. Combat will happen when it does it can be more plot or story driven or consequence. This isn't a lethal-intended campaign, but death is possible. I ask that you try not to use any exploits you found online and try to make a character you will enjoy embodying and thinking about. Also I do not play with the Lucky Feat. Dice roll as they may. I reward roleplay moments. I have my little bag of inspirations ready to hand out. /lh

Safety

How TheWanderingEmmanuel creates a safe table

For Lines and veils I will send everyone a pdf with checkboxes for them to fill out. I will have them send it back to me and check for overlap and what not to include in the campaign. Session 0 will be character generation, how their stories connect, what the world is like, the general genre or theme of it. It's also for building rapport with players and making sure everyone is having a good time. After a session we'll do Post-Session Pleasantries(PSP) and talk about our thoughts and feelings about how the session went. What went well, what could be improved. These will all be over discord. But each Person's own lines and veils pdf will be private.
