About the adventure

📡... INCOMING TRANSMISSION... 📡 Sigmatus V is no great jewel of the Imperium. It is an oceanic world whose main export are its own green, algae-riddled waters for passing voidships. The sole hive city that it posses is choked with rusted spires and industrial chimneys. Its population of laborers, artisans, and poorly-paid soldiers work day after day under the cold rain, many hoping that their brief lives will make even the smallest of differences. But you? You're different. Perhaps you ended up stuck on this salty rock due to the misfortunes of fate. Perhaps you are on the run from something far greater than yourself. Or perhaps you dream of riches, respect, power! Whatever the case, it seems you've caught the eye of a certain individual of note. A crime lord many speak of in hushed whispers. They have deemed you worthy of their service, and whether through an open hand or a closed fist you'll do their bidding. After all, what could come wrong from fighting the law? ⚜️+THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A Mind Without Purpose Will Wander In Dark Places+⚜️

About me

Going more than a decade strong in the hobby. Started with nothing more than a group of friends with a second-hand 3.5 player handbook and now I've got at least a dozen campaigns under my belt in all sorts of systems, from 5e to Dark Heresy and Delta Green. What I aim to bring is... - 1️⃣ A table where people can speak to one another casually and easily. Good vibes, good jokes, good times. - 2️⃣ Helping players spread their wings with their roleplay chops. I want to know your character's backstory, the people they care about and those they loathe in equal measure. Weaving together everything the players bring to the table is, I've found, the best way to create memorable moments. - 3️⃣ Challenging combat with stakes. I'll fully admit that I usually start off with kiddy gloves to measure how capable my players are, but once I know your limits I'll be having you ride the fine line between living and dying. If my rolls actually work out, that is... - 4️⃣ A space where you can come to me behind the scenes without worry. If something comes up that puts a damp in your enjoyment, your schedule is suddenly hellish, or practically anything else? If it's within my power to change then let's see what we can do!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will follow the rules stated in the Core Rulebook. The option of Roll Dice, Point Buy, and others are left up to each player, the XP reward in place for each option. All character concepts and goals will be introduced and full and finalized in Session 0. Extra options from the Inquisition's Guide are permitted.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will be provided with all the materials necessary to learn the rules and system. It will not be obligatory to read everything, but at least a rough understanding of the combat and key systems such as skills and talents will be required for session 0. No physical items needed due to the virtual nature of the game.

What Kralion brings to the table

Character exploration, faction ploys, and grisly combat are my three main goals to achieve in a 40k campaign. We'll be mostly sticking to RAW, but I can't resist an exception or two if it would achieve any of those previously mentioned goals. For the more visual and audio aspect, I'll bring modules for combat visuals with explosions, wrecks, and fires, macros for ease of play, hand-picked music, and custom maps made by myself through Dungeondraft or through other sources. And yes, I have vocal chords with an *acceptable* level of range.

Homebrew rules

We'll be using the Subtlety and Every Bullet Counts/Ammunition optional rules for this campaign.

Safety

How Kralion creates a safe table

Session 0 will consist of everyone introducing their characters, backstories, and goals in detail as well as anything that they'd rather not see in the campaign. Due to the violent and harsh nature of the Warhammer 40k universe, elements like gore, drug use, body horror are practically impossible to censure without affecting the overall experience. Everything else is, of course, up for discussion. A short 10 to 15 minute break will happen once per game to get drinks, go to the bathroom, stretch, etc.
