About the adventure

This is a gritty, character-driven campaign steeped in cosmic horror, where your backstory matters as much as your stats. You'll shape who your character trusts, what they fear, and where their loyalties lie. Factions offer rich contrasts such as ideology vs survival, justice vs order and Session 0 will define your group's alliances and shared purpose. Expect tension, ambiguity, and roleplay with teeth. This is a story for players who want to live their characters, not just level them. Half a millennium past, Kaedia was forged on contested land—born not of conquest, but of cooperation. Humans and elves, long enemies, forged an uneasy alliance and built a new city between their realms. Kaedia grew as a shared experiment in peace, blending elven wisdom and human ambition. A symbolic Silverblood regent, a half-elf heir of both peoples, was appointed to lead the city through its early years. And thrive it did—agriculture flourished, trade routes blossomed, and a unique culture emerged: Kaedian. Peace and profit reigned as Kaedia grew into a bustling trade hub, but cultural factions hardened into tribal divides, and justice fractured along belief lines. The Silverblood Queen’s attempts at unity failed—her people were too proud. Into this rising discord stepped Reinholdt Silverblood, “The Yellow,” the Godless King. Determined to forge lasting unity, he seized total power. Religion was outlawed. Law centralized. Propaganda elevated Reinholdt to a self-proclaimed deity. His brutal regime silenced dissent, turning the city into a machine of conquest. He drafted armies, honed arcane power, and readied Kaedia to dominate its neighbors. But even gods bleed. When Reinholdt turned his ambitions against the elven homeland, Kaedia’s faithless foundation cracked. Rebellion swelled, driven by the Radiant Church—once a fringe cult, now a beacon of resistance. Civil war ignited. Betrayed by his own brother, Reinholdt fell—cursing the city with his dying breath. The Radiant Church seized power. Kaedia was wounded, but it survived. Alas, like carrion birds coming to feed, came the Goretide. From the southern wilds, monstrous hordes descended beneath a crimson moon. Kaedia made a desperate stand. Outcasts and officials stood together, and in this crucible, salvation was forged. The Obitus Scholare unveiled the first Jaeger, an augmented hunter of monsters. The Scions, technomancers beyond moral constraint, unleashed Manikins—arcane constructs of artificial life. These weapons turned the tide. Kaedia endured. But peace once again proved fleeting. From the ruined Ruby District, a new threat rose: the Myst Scourge. Under the moonlit mist, twisted beasts stalked the streets. The Church organized hunts during these strange moons to cull the rise of these monsters. Yet, Thirty-four blood-drenched nights have come and gone, and still, the Scourge grows. Citizens bar their doors. Hunters stalk the shadows. The 35th hunt begins with you.|

Safety

How Necrotic GM (Tim) creates a safe table

Adventures in this setting can be Grimdark at times and can touch on sensitive subjects and it's important to make our boundaries clear, so that each of us can feel safe and relaxed. We will go over safety tools, and how the party will get together in Session 0, and at the end of each session we can discuss what went well and what should be improved.
