About the adventure
The shadow of war looms within the fae realm and conflict brews beneath the surface of a world in a state of metamorphosis. Threads of hope & fear pull its inhabitants between light & darkness, Seelie & Unseelie courts vie for power. Our characters dwell in a land in constant shifting balance that threatens to alter the very essence of those that give in to its pull. Seelie Archfae courts fallen to the curse of fear have lost their relics of hope and kingdoms to the Unseelie horrors that now rule in their stead with an alien malice. This curse now threatens to spread to very heart of the kingdom you call home. Our adventurers have been tasked by their Archfae sovereign to investigate a nearby allied court whose royal messenger has fallen silent and determine the cause. They must fight past any Unseelie horrors that have arisen and if possible rescue the allied sovereign, their citizens & restore their relic of hope. Have they fallen to the shades of fear and become Unseelie? What has become of the relic of hope at the cities heart? Does whatever horror that befell them have designs on your kingdom next? Only the fates can see..... Set in a whimsical and fantastical land ruled by archfey courts, some already having fallen to the dying of the light of hope, Its up to our heroes to fight back the shades of fear and inspire hope in the hearts of fae once more. This campaign is intended to evoke both the fantastical and horrific flavors of fairytales and fae fiction with some surreal fantasy and supernatural horror elements. Those familiar with dnd can imagine a world that is in state of transforming from faewild to shadowfell.

About me
Hi yall my name is Nikolae, I've been a fan of dnd and fantasy ttrpgs since I was a knee high to a grasshopper. I have about 10 years experience gming, mostly with dnd5e running homebrew campaigns. Lately Daggerheart 🗡️🫀 & Cloud Empress ☁️🪲 have been my main focus both as a gm and player. 🗡️ 🫀s narrative first style, collaborative focused mechanics and easy to homebrew system that highlights cinematic storytelling and creative play fits really well with my preferred style of GMing. I enjoying writing my own homebrew campaign frames but also jump into oneshots as a player whenever I can, usually trying a different class from the player side of the table. ☁️🪲is a rules light setting/system hack for the Mothership RPG engine that leans heavily into narrative flavor and simple mechanics to capture the weird ecological science fantasy aesthetic of it's primary touch stone, the 1984 studio Ghibli animated film "Nausicaä in the Valley of the Wind". It blends elements of pastoral fantasy adventure, post apocalyptic survival and cosmic scifi horror to create a setting thats wholey unique, + it has giant bone-eating psychic cicadas, bug chalk powered magic, airships & cloud cities.

Creating your character
Character creation and game settup will take place collaboratively during our session Zero. Actual campaign gameplay should fall somewhere between 3.5 to 4 hours. We will be starting as tier 1, level 1 pcs for this campaign, we will play up till level 5 but the potential to play through to level 10 if there is continued interest in making it a longterm campaign. We will be using the official Daggerheart core release material via demiplane's daggerheart nexus character builder and roll20s demiplane integration for character management and tabletop settup, There is the additional option to use any of the up to date official play test classes, ancestries or communities available on the Void and demiplane, if you require content to be unlock for you within demiplane you must let me know and join the demiplane group so I can set you to have full access to the locked character options. Visual or narrative reflavorings are allowed using the core or playtest material but mechanical changes must be discussed during session 0 and remain at the GMs discretion. Feel free to have ideas in mind coming into the session 0 as to the character or class you'd enjoy playing both narratively and mechanically. I would ask you to keep their backstories loose and thematic but not set in stone. Leave space for us to build the characters, ties, and world collaboratively at the table during character creation at session Zero.

Preparing for the session
To join this campaign: -You must have an account on Discord and join the campaign discord server, voice call will take place over discord in the campaigns dedicated server. -You must assemble all necessary tools and resources listed to facilitate play, I have added many in the player resource channel for players that do not have access to the physical or digital materials like links to the free SRD, player guide sheets, class character sheets, void playtest content and card info via the card editor all can be found in the discord servers payer resource channel. -You must use demiplane's daggerheart nexus to create your character sheets and rolls20s demiplane integration to manage character sheets during gameplay, if you require content to be unlock for you within demiplane you must let me know and join the demiplane group so I can set you to have full access to the locked character options for the duration of our campaign. To Join this campaign you will need: -working headphones and microphone (required), -computer and working internet. -At least a free demiplane account, roll20 account and discord account.

Homebrew rules
Aside from me being very open to reflavoring and thematic changes to game elements to help players realize the mechanical and narrative character concepts they want to play, the game will mostly be rules as written for ease of play tho I do lean towards rule of cool, narrative driven reflavoring and simple mechanical changes as long as they come from a genuine place of excitement for the story and character rather than attempt to alter and abuse mechanics for power gaming reasons.
