About the adventure

The Stolen Lands are wild, dangerous, and untamed—yet they are also a land of promise, where anyone bold (or foolish) enough can stake their claim. Many would-be heroes dream of carving out a kingdom here. But what happens when the fate of these lands rests not on noble champions, but on a band of eccentric outcasts who can barely get along? Welcome to Kingmaker: Misfits, a high-fantasy Pathfinder 2e campaign where the unlikely, the unwanted, and the unhinged are given the power to rule. Instead of flawless knights or stoic lords, you’ll find our table full of oddballs. This is not your polished “heroes in shining armor” campaign. It’s messy, heartfelt, and occasionally absurd. At its heart, though, the story asks serious questions: What does it mean to build something lasting out of chaos? Can misfits become monarchs without destroying themselves or each other? If you’re looking for a game that mixes political intrigue, exploration, kingdom-building, and laugh-out-loud misadventures with a cast of colorful, deeply flawed characters, this table is for you. Whether you’re a veteran of Pathfinder or brand new to the system, the focus here is collaborative storytelling and experiencing the story of Kingmaker's base Adventure Path, and what else might have trickled in from the rest of the world of Golarion.

About me

Hi, I'm Cloudheart! I'm a storyteller, worldbuilder, and Game Master who has a past in Video Game Design and Programming. We currently livestream three ongoing campaigns weekly on Twitch.TV/CloudheartTV: - Pathfinder 2e Kingmaker: Misfits — a chaotic kingdom-building journey through the wild Stolen Lands. - TABRA: The Tale of the Meta-Gamers - an equal parts comedy and drama filled isekai journey in a JRPG-fare land beset by the Demon King. - Elder Scrolls: Gaol - a gritty take on the world and lore of The Elder Scrolls series following a group of prisoners forcibly converted into Penal Soldiers for the Empire of Cyrodiil. I focus on weaving player choices deeply into the narrative, making sure your characters genuinely impact the world around them, and the world impacts *you*. Our games explore mature themes — including survival, politics, and personal struggle — always handled with respect for the players and the story. If you’re looking for a table where storytelling, worldbuilding, and player agency take center stage, I’d love to have you join the journey!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is usually done before we play, I have a FoundryVTT server that I will show you how to connect to (all it requires is a Browser, preferably Chrome or Firefox, no account creation or anything) There are online resources I'll share that make building a character easier, such as the searchable Pathfinder Database: Archives of Nethys, and the character builder that we use to import characters, Pathbuilder. I will then take a vivid description from you of your character and provide and tweak an image that suits you for your character concept. In order to keep pace with the party, any new players will be brought in at the current party level, and we'll come up with a narrative together for how you end up joining the group. All books/resources for Pathfinder 2e available on the Archives of Nethys are fair game for character creation, so go wild!

The current party

Fekro - Goblin Alchemist and lover of Alchemical Food. Dex Weaver - Skeletal Lizard Druid and Hand-to-Hand Fighter. "Hello, Friend!" Kori Indahaus - Dongun Hold Gun-Crafting former Union Chief. Now King. And a wee-bit of a fantasy racist. Satus Ignis - A zealous, cult-leading ever-burning Dawnflower Leshy Oracle in a pot. Tilly Mothbutton - A Velveteen Rabbit Poppet Wizard who has the soul and former life memories of a Dragon.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

No webcam needed. Our players prefer to remain physically anonymous. Mic needed. Decent quality, we stream our games on Twitch. General familiarity with rules is appreciated, but in the moment I'll explain any rules that come up. Client Requirements for FoundryVTT in Browser: - Relatively Modern Computer running: Windows 10/11, macOS Big Sur (or newer), or Linux OS with 64-bit support - A dedicated GPU which supports WebGL 2.0 - 16GB of Ram - A monitor with 1920x1080 or higher resolution - A mouse and keyboard. - Chrome or Chromium based browser.

What Cloudheart brings to the table

Official FoundryVTT/Paizo modules for Kingmaker, a custom suite of QoL modules for FoundryVTT, custom maps/tokens and I do character voices and use ambient/combat music (royalty-free or CC0). I also use a Voice Modulator in moderation for select characters. We embrace rule of cool for singular moments and cool player ideas, otherwise rules as written.

Homebrew rules

Hero Points can be spent before a roll to give a +8 to a roll, they can also be spent after to give a +4. You have to declare your spending one before to get the +8. They otherwise function as normal with all their other Hero Point functions. We create characters with the Free Archetype Rule. "Heroic Recovery" can be applied to massive damage/instant death effects. Players can immediately prepare new abilities they gain from mid-day level ups. (No need to "go to sleep" to level up).
