About the adventure

⚔ Deep in the southern reaches of the elven nation of Kyonin lies the defeated demon lord Treerazer. Long ago, the elves made their fateful trip back to Golarion to protect that planet from his ravages. They were able to bring the creature to the brink of defeat, leaving it with a fraction of its power, but were unable to fully destroy it. And so they warded the woods that became known as the Tanglebriar, and for millennia they kept watch for signs of Treerazer's growing power. But the demon lord bided his time, playing the long game. Unable to return to the Abyss due to foes there, and unable to directly strike against the combined people of Golarion, he waited. He slowly gathered resources, allies, and power from his exile, he knew that things would eventually slip into enough complacence for him to make his move. And now that time is approaching. ⚔ This adventure leans heavily into the conflict between the elves of Kyonin and the demon Treerazer, but things don't pop off immediately. Especially in the opening scenes of the story, your character will be engaged at the periphery of the thousands-of-years-old cold war with the demon. There will be plenty of fighting against corrupted tyrannosaurus, but just as much social maneuvering, so don't neglect your social skills. ⚔ You do not have to be a Kyonin elf for this campaign. The isolationist period of Kyonin is a thing of the past, and they've gathered many allies from all ancestries. But your character should have ties to Kyonin, and have a built-in reason to come to the nation's aid if needed. You will need to be connected to Kyonin for about six months prior to the adventure to make the story work, and we can make just about any backstory fit. Be creative with it!
