About the adventure

At Site-39 Annex, the world’s most dangerous secrets are locked away — and some of them are people. Here, the Foundation keeps its low-risk anomalies, long-term human integrations, and the ones too strange to classify. You are one of them. Not a hero. Not a villain. Just a person who doesn’t fit anywhere else… until the day the Random Encounter Generator wakes up. Dragged into a surreal, living simulation, you and the others are reshaped into adventurers — paladins, rogues, clerics, artificers, warlocks — and told you are “balanced.” What begins as a distorted fantasy becomes a crucible of puzzles, monsters, and memory-traps that blur the line between who you are and who the system says you should be. In this place, the game is watching you. The question is: will you play along? The tone is tense, intimate, and character-driven — built for players who enjoy immersive roleplay, slow-burn mysteries, and the thrill of discovering how far their character will bend before they break. You’ll face moral dilemmas, reality-bending environments, and opponents who know your weaknesses better than you do. This isn’t about winning. It’s about surviving long enough to learn why you were chosen. If you like your D&D with equal parts eerie atmosphere, emotional stakes, and strange beauty, welcome to the Annex. The simulation is already running.

About me

Hello, I’m Zack, also known as Zackman634. I am a professional Game Master with years of experience crafting emotionally resonant, story-driven tabletop campaigns. My background in creative writing and narrative design allows me to build worlds that feel lived in, characters that matter, and arcs that evolve naturally from player choices. My campaigns focus on meaningful decisions, layered roleplay, and immersive storytelling. Whether the setting is a crumbling cyberpunk metropolis or a mythic afterlife full of secrets, I tailor each session to reflect the unique dynamics of the party. I design games that encourage character growth, exploration, and player agency, with just the right amount of challenge and surprise. As a disabled creator, I understand the importance of accessibility, empathy, and creating safe but compelling spaces for all players. I welcome newcomers and veteran players alike and take pride in adjusting my style to fit the needs of each group. If you are looking for a Game Master who prioritises narrative depth, emotional engagement, and collaborative storytelling, I would be honoured to run a game for you. Also, something that sets me apart from other game masters is that I spend an entire day if not longer every week to improve my personal skills as a storyteller by watching seminars, reading books, and doing improv exercises (though I'm terrible at improv). That's on top of all the prep work I do every week for each adventure. I am always getting better.

Character creation

Creating your character

It will happen between booking and Session One, where we work together to form one that fits you. Session Zero will be a combination of going over what I loving call the PreNup where we talk about everything in high detail, and character creation. It will be our longest session most likely. But if we don't get it done by the end of Session 0, we'll get it handled between then and Session One

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You need to have a discord account and add me, zackman634. That's the base minimum, but I would also appreciate that you download Fight Club 5e on your phone, so we have a standardized system of character sheets. I can send you compendium to add to it with additional things so you can have access to all of my legally owned content in regards to DND.

What Zackary Baker brings to the table

I focus on immersive storytelling, deep character interaction, and responsive worldbuilding shaped by your choices. I do not use character voices, but I write and roleplay NPCs with distinct motivations, emotional depth, and narrative purpose. Ambience and music are sometimes included to support the tone of a scene, though my primary focus remains on description and pacing. Combat in my games is meaningful, not constant. Encounters serve the story and are designed with tension and consequence in mind, rather than tactical gridplay. I favour the Rule of Cool when it enhances narrative flow but keep a solid grasp on the game’s structure to ensure fairness and consistency. Players can expect collaborative safety tools, regular check-ins, and a flexible tone that adapts to the group’s energy. I welcome character-driven play, moral dilemmas, and story arcs that give you room to grow and break. You bring the voice. I’ll bring the world.

Homebrew rules

Nat 1's and Nat 20's aren't instant fails or wins, but you can definitely fail forward in my campaign, so that if your character could reasonably do something, like a rogue picking a lock with lockpicking tools, you can do it. The roll is to see if anything bad occurs in that time rather than not being able to do it at all. I do use inspiration frequently. Usually I'd use it to give to players who bring snacks, but in this case I'll give it to people who take notes and give proper summaries at the next session.

How Zackary Baker creates a safe table

I take routine breaks when relevant, or needed. I also do aftercare and debriefing on how the session went and what people liked or didn't like so I can be a better DM next time. X, N, and O cards will be displayed in whatever manner the player sees fit.
