About the adventure
Deep in the forest, there is a citadel that once was home to an esoteric druidic order; its ruins now house colonies of goblins, kobolds, and some creatures far stranger beside. In a tavern, a mysterious and powerful patron insists that you must retrieve an artifact--a grimoire that once belonged to one of her fallen party-- so that the magic within does not fall into the wrong hands. She tells you about the citadel, located in Faerun's Lost Peaks, once a thriving space for magical entities, and about the schism within the druidic order that led to a cataclysm so large that the very earth objected, swallowing up the citadel and burying the remains. Over time the area began to grow again, and groups of goblins took advantage of the bounties that the citadel's bones could provide. The goblins brought rare and prized ingredients to wizards who would come to trade discreetly in the nearby town of Oakhelm. But recently, trade has slowed, and goblins report that stranger creatures and stranger happenings are attacking them and their harvest. Your patron was hired to investigate; with her partner, she descended into the depths, where he was slain and she forced to retreat. Your objective is clear: enter the citadel, retrieve his grimoire, and return to your patron alive. But the path through the citadel is fraught and tangled-- and things may not always be as they seem... This is an introductory adventure that is open to players of all experience levels!

About me
Hello! I'm TJ, and I've been playing D&D since high school. I started DMing a few years ago in 5e and the horror RPG Mothership and have loved being able to build rich and beautiful stories with my friends.

Creating your character
There will be a session 0 to get everyone's character's set up and discuss their situation within the lore of the game. Characters will be starting at Level 1. The game will be hosted on Roll20, so you can make your character sheet in there for ease of access if you'd like! If there's any specifics you have questions about (or interesting character beats you'd like to propose or anything like that) feel free to reach out separately and we can talk through it.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I'd recommend getting an account on Roll20 set up so you will be able to access the game.
What TJ Landman brings to the table
I typically play ambient music during the games I run (either over discord or Roll20). I try to create challenging but balanced combat situations. I'm also a big fan of RP and defusing situations in ways other than combat. If you have a creative solution to a problem I will often honor it (within reason of course).
Homebrew rules
I typically use critical fails/critical successes in my games. I will also allow using a potion as a bonus action.

How TJ Landman creates a safe table
I am planning on using X/N/O safety cards messaged to me. I will send players a link to my Lines and Veils document and asking them to enter their preferences so I can build a game where everyone can feel comfortable. I plan on using Stars and Wishes to discuss session improvements and things people are enjoying.
