About the adventure

The humanoids are all gone. The elder dragons had grown tired of mankind and their constant expansions and conflicts. They sought out ancient and long forgotten magics in order to rid the world of all of them, at once and forever. And they were successful. The world is in chaos. It has been a year since every human, elf, orc, goblin, gnome, halfling, dwarf, and every other two-legged creature of man was wiped from reality. It is up to you: a deathlock mastermind, a bheur hag, a mind flayer, a treant, a cloaker, a frost giant, a blue slaad, a young copper dragon, a yuan-ti abomination, a crimson countess, a ghost knight, a chain devil, a guardian naga, and an efreeti to put it right again. This is a short arc, original campaign from the creator of Godsfall and the co-producer of Kill Every Monster. It will feature monsters as the protagonists, and run every other week for 6-8 session. Each session will be 2-3 hours long.

About me

I am the co-producer of Kill Every Monster and the co-founder of Dead Ghost Productions. I run custom Dungeons and Dragons, Call of Cthulhu, MASKS, Vampire the Masquerade, DIE RPG, and Star Trek Adventures campaigns (plus a few more systems I am pretty good at). I like to tell vivid, relevant stories that give plenty of room for the players at my table to carve out their own pieces of the world via their character backstories and connections. I am also the co-founder of Dead Ghost Productions (deadghostpro.com) and the co-producer of the Dungeons and Dragons podcast, Kill Every Monster (killeverymonster.com)

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will chose from one of the following creatures and backstories to form an unlikely campaign to restore mankind to their place under the sun. UBEK THE DESTROYER Delighted in the downfall of mankind, Ubek's patron was obliterated in the dragon war and his soul bound transferred to the Kelemvor. Instead of purging the abomination, the God of the Dead sought to make his punishment fit his crime, and set him on a quest to restore what he had undone. SUNANDA An elder Spirit Naga in the last century of its life, seeking a way to serve humanity one last time. GERTRUDE A Bheur Hag bitter about the loss of her most precious playthings: mankind. She seeks to restore them so that her games may begin anew. QUILZIK The Mind Flayer hungers for the flavors and thoughts of the lost races of man. They will restore them, if only to satiate their delicate palate. NEZADEL The young Copper Dragon is one of the few survivors of the Great Dragon War who sided with the mortals, and will side with any forces—good or evil—who will help her atone for her failings. ZHOTSATA Those who remain do not appease the Great Serpent. Mankind must be restored so proper apprentices—and sacrifices—may be found again. PRINCE RAHI The prince of the northern Frost Giants, Rahi is on a quest to restore the natural balance demanded by his faith and his people. LYRA A general in the in war against mankind, the Crimson Countess picked up a cursed magic spear that altered her alignment and set her on a quest to undo the destruction she had wrought. NUTMEG The Great Mother of the Red Oaks, Nutmeg, seeks to forgive the humanoids and risks her ancient arboreal kingdom by doing so. KWASH A young cloaker who has no love for humanity, but knows that humanoids are vital to the survival of its kind. No people, no food. THOG Thog big blue slaad. People small. Thog make small people not gone. Thog happy. THE PALE RIDER Honor demands that mankind live, and the Pale Rider cannot rest until they see the dawn again. AVORATH THE BINDER (https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/16822-chain-devil) The screams have gone quiet. The voices that remain are...disharmonious. Avorath shall hear the songs of mankind's agony again. BAGRAT Bagrat's lamp was found by a young girl buried in the shallow sands of the ocean near her grandparent's home. He enticed her to make her wishes so he could be free, but she was clever and patient. She spent only one wish; to lift her family and her village out of poverty. A decade later, when her brother fell ill, she wished him well. She could not bear living without him. The magics changed him; they made him stronger than he had ever been, but he grew arrogant and cruel. She swore to never wish her last wish to keep Bagrat imprisoned forever. She was an old woman when humanity was undone by foul and powerful magics. She had just enough time for one last wish before oblivion. "I wish that you find a way to save us all."
