About the adventure
The land of Hyrule, once a radiant realm of balance and harmony, now teeters on the edge of oblivion. The centuries-long peace among its many peoples has crumbled into open war. You and your party of mercenaries are summoned, after promises of a hefty pay, for a mission of utmost secrecy. To escort a mysterious figure from Zora's Domain to Hyrule Castle, one you know absolutely nothing about. But as long as the payment is good, why should you? All that matters is that her safe arrival is vital to the survival of the fractured kingdom. The journey should take two days. But in this land of strife and chaos, world travels fast, and there are many who would see her never reach her destination. Rival factions, mercenaries, assasins and even cursed remnants of Demise's dark legacy stalk the roads and rivers of Hyrule. Each with their own reasons for wanting her gone. And the longer you spend with her, the clearer it'll become that there is more to the job. The fate of Hyrule hangs by a thread. Will you fulfill your duty, or be responsible for the demise of Hylia's children?

From the deepest layers of the Abyss, to planets beyond comprehension. From fantastical tales of ancient mystery to post apocalyptic tales of despair and anguish. Comedy, dark, casual or the utmost hardcore - I have done a bit of everything. All lead by the characters me and others have created, fueled by your ideas to make worlds beyond your imagination. View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be done before the one-shot alongside the DM, giving as much help as needed. Stats will be rolled for with a total stat range between 70 and 80 for the sake of balancing. Your character will be level 5 without any level-ups, and we are exclusively using lore-fitting homebrew races (although vanilla human and variant human are allowed). The characters should be able to fit in the Legend of Zelda world. More details on the races will be given as soon as the player has signed up for the first session and both player and DM have time to chat. The campaign will take place in Roll20 in its entirety, and it'll use D&D5e (2014) as a base.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Mics are required to be used with Discord; webcams are not. You will be given access to the homebrew content trough a google drive link after signing up and are expected to have at least one, and up to three, character concepts ready for discussion with the group before first session. There’s no need to go into detail, things like race, general alignment, and possible classes will suffice. You should have or create an account in roll20.net
What Marcy brings to the table
Character voices (to the best of my ability)! Ambient music from some of my favorite games! And a (limited) Rule of Cool that will let you get creative with your solutions to the myriad of obstacles I shall place in your path. I will also provide you a space where you can shine regardless of the kind of player you are or the kind of character you're playing. I will make it worth your focus and investment. Your enjoyment is my number 1 priority.
Homebrew rules
We will exclusively use homebrew races for this campaign, though vanilla and variant humans are allowed. Revised Healing Potions: Drinking a potion of healing of any variety is a bonus action, unless you are using it on someone else, in which case it requires an action. Healing a Downed Ally: Each time a healing spell is used to bring a player who has gone down back to health, they gain a level of exhaustion. Consistent Enemy Crits: Critical hits on players deal only one additional die of damage per different die type. Cost-Based Spell Components: You may cast a spell with a cost-based component by sacrificing the equivalent amount of gold instead. The sole exception to this rule is the diamond worth 300 gp required for the Revivify spell. Private Death Saves: Death saving throws are private between the player and DM. Weapon Switching Mid-Combat: You can freely switch between weapons of the same type. Switching between weapons of different types requires a bonus action. Revised Flanking: When a creature and at least one of its allies are adjacent to an enemy and on opposite sides or corners of the enemy's space, they flank that enemy. Each of them gains a bonus to hit equal to half their proficiency bonus (rounded down). Strategizing: After two rounds have passed, players will be given time to discuss the current state of combat and strategize.

How Marcy creates a safe table
A common Lines and Veils document, with deep and clear talks during Session 0, making sure every player feels respected. After the first few sessions, we'll discuss what everyone liked and disliked, and then privately I will discuss with each individual player if they have any qualms or issues with another player's playstyle, trying to amicably find a solution every player can agree with. Every player is free to take up to 3 consecutive breaks, for which they won't be charged for. But after the third break, they will be required to leave the campaign. If a player takes breaks too often, or asks for a break within 48 hours of the next session, each break will be charged half of the full session cost (for the sake of paying for the set-up).
