About the adventure

The Sundering is ravaging the realms, but not everyone is working towards peace. You have made a name for yourself destroying the realm by your own hands, as have several others. Now, the most malignant gods have gathered in Elemental Chaos, and have invited their favored champions to become demigods. You were among those chosen. As such, you and the other champions must set out from Elturel to reach the center of the world, where an ancient stone known as the Blood Sphere can be used to reach your divine allies. However, while the gods won't intervene directly, that doesn't mean you won't find opposition on your way down. This is a one-shot intended for 4-6 level 20 evil-aligned adventurers using pre-2024 Dungeons and Dragons 5e rules written by Dave Zajac. All adventurers are expected to both have completed a long career of lies, murder, and deceit and be willing to work alongside "comrades of circumstance" with aligned goals.

About me

Hello! I am an amateur Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons. I've been running one shots since summer of 2023, and campaigns since summer of 2024. Now, I'm looking to try out running games online.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Microphone Required. Please create free Discord and Roll20 accounts. If you intend to use D&D Beyond, please ensure you have installed the Beyond 20 extension into your browser ahead of game time. Please also join the Discord prior to game time. If you need help with character creation, please reach out to me. While I can answer some questions during the game, this one-shot has a significant amount of high-level combat, so players must be very familiar with their characters to end in a reasonable amount of time.

What DM Lost brings to the table

Roll20: I will provide Roll20 maps and tokens to create an immersive environment. Discord: There will be a Discord server available to ask questions, communicate party composition, and use for voice chat during the game.

Safety

How DM Lost creates a safe table

I employ a few safety measures to ensure the table stays healthy and fun for both myself and players. First of all, due to the nature of this one-shot, I do ask that all players DM me with any topics that should be avoided in the one-shot and any topics that can be brought up only momentarily (i.e. rather than describing a character doing something, simply saying they do it and moving on). I also will be using X and N cards: at any time, any player can message me with an X to indicate immediate discomfort with the current scene or N to indicate anticipated discomfort with the current story direction. Either way, I will intervene to push or rewrite the story to be more comfortable for everyone. Additionally, I do have an open door policy: if you need to take a 5-10 minute break, you may do so at any time. I will plan on taking a 10 minute break some time around three hours into the session as well. Finally, I will end each session with a check-in and time for feedback.
