About the adventure
Welcome to the world of Dungeons & Dragons — a land of magic, monsters, and adventure! Whether this is your first time rolling dice or you’re a seasoned slayer of goblins, you’re in for a story full of magic, mystery, and mayhem. Brought to you by the creator of the Ready Set Quest actual play channel, we're taking an epic journey into one of D&D’s most beloved beginner adventures. In Lost Mine of Phandelver, you’ll step into the boots of a fantasy hero: a brave fighter, a cunning rogue, a wise wizard, or a steadfast cleric. Together, your party of adventurers has been hired to deliver a wagon of goods to a quiet frontier town. But along the way, you’ll uncover secrets that could change everything. Set in the sword-and-sorcery realm of the Forgotten Realms, this campaign blends classic fantasy themes — goblins, bandits, dragons, and ancient ruins — with a mystery that unfolds over time. You'll explore haunted forests, forgotten caves, and small towns full of colorful characters, all while uncovering the long-lost secrets of a powerful magical mine. This is a story-driven game filled with action, choices, and creativity. You don’t need to know the rules — we’ll walk through everything together. If you’ve ever wanted to play out your own fantasy movie, improvise clever solutions, or just roll dice and have fun with friends, this is your chance. No experience needed. Just bring your imagination, a sense of adventure, and maybe a snack or two.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi, I’m David — aka Gamey Lannister. I’m a Canadian-born actor, writer, and professional Game Master, and the host of Ready Set Quest!, an actual play channel where story and chaos collide. I trained in improv at both Second City and UCB, which means I’m always ready for the unexpected — especially when it’s rolled with advantage. Growing up, I never played Dungeons & Dragons because I thought it was “too nerdy” (even though I was absolutely a super-nerd). Instead, I fell in love with board games. Then in 2019, I finally gave D&D 5e a shot — and I was instantly hooked. Since then, I’ve explored all kinds of TTRPGs and never looked back. I’m obsessed with immersive storytelling, tight mechanics, and the sweet spot where gaming meets improv — two of my favorite things in the world. Games I love: D&D, Pathfinder 2e, Blades in the Dark, Savage Worlds, Traveller 2e, Edge of the Empire… basically any TTRPG that encourages creativity, story, and fun. Fun fact: I once played the top 100 games on BoardGameGeek… in 100 days. (I do not recommend this.)

Safety
How Gamey Lannister creates a safe table
Player safety is a top priority at my table. Before the game begins, I’ll be sending out a Lines and Veils form to make sure everyone has a chance to privately flag any themes, topics, or content they’d prefer to avoid or handle with care. This helps ensure that everyone feels comfortable and respected from the very start. In Session 0, we’ll talk through expectations, tone, character creation, house rules, and table safety tools — including the use of X, N, and O cards. These can be used digitally (chat message or private DM) or visually if we're on video. I always make space for players to speak up during or after the game if something felt off, and I check in with anyone who might have seemed uncomfortable. After each session, we’ll do quick aftercare — just a casual debrief to see how everyone’s feeling, what they enjoyed, and if anything needs adjusting. My goal is to create a fun, collaborative, and inclusive space where all players can explore, express, and enjoy themselves safely. If you ever have questions, concerns, or preferences, I’m always open to hearing them. This is our story, and everyone deserves to feel safe telling it together.
