About the adventure
Worried you'll play D&D "wrong"? This is a game where that fear doesn't exist. Inspired by the freedom of Skyrim, this is a guided, open-world adventure where your curiosity is rewarded and there are no wrong answers. You are a brave soul standing at the edge of the wild frontier. The village of Phandalin calls for heroes as a white dragon’s shadow chills the land and ancient secrets wait to be uncovered in ruins and mountains. Will you face the dragon’s icy wrath, uncover lost treasures, or carve a path no one has dared to tread? Your destiny is yours to claim and your legend is yours to write. Perfect for new players who want a patient, rules-light entry into D&D. As one of my first-time players put it: "...a great way to get into the world of tabletop RPGs. The setup and story were very easy to follow... Gabriel has a lot of patience to teach beginners... an amazing way to get introduced to the hobby." - Ifys

Meet the Game Master
About me
Forget random dungeons. My tables are for players who want their choices to have weight, to feel the ripple effects of their actions in a world that feels truly alive. My background in Social Sciences and Public Administration means I build worlds with depth. ⚖️ Real Consequences: Expect intricate political webs and NPCs driven by realistic motivations. Your decisions will have tangible, cascading consequences that permanently alter the world. 🏛️ Systemic Depth: You won't just clear a dungeon; you might destabilize an entire economy or spark a diplomatic crisis. We'll explore how power operates and how history is shaped by the choices of a few. 🌎 An International Storyteller As a Brazilian Game Master, I bring a unique cultural perspective to my storytelling, and a professional approach I've shared with players at events like GenCon's Portuguese track. The narratives we build are infused with a different rhythm and a global flavor. I am fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and I foster a diverse, international community at my tables. If you are a player who craves exploration with real stakes and wants to see your character's legacy written into the fabric of a believable world, then your seat is waiting.

Creating your character
We'll be using the 5e 2024 rules, focusing on core books to fit the setting. Pre-generated characters with custom art are available, or we can build your hero from scratch in a simple, guided process.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To keep everything organized, all players will need a Discord account and join my server. It’ll be our main hub for chatting, sharing files, and running Session 0. discord.com/register We’ll also be using FoundryVTT to play the game, so you’ll need to create a free account there too. It’s easy to set up, and I’m happy to help if you need a hand! https://foundryvtt.com/auth/register/

Homebrew rules
I like to stick to the rules for the most part, but I’m totally open to the “rule of cool” when it makes the story more exciting. If you want to try something that’s outside the usual rules, you can spend a use of Inspiration to pull it off. As long as it’s cinematic, fair, and fits the moment, I’m all for letting cool ideas shine!

How Gabriel Olive creates a safe table
During Session 0, I’ll share a consent checklist where everyone can mark their lines and veils — topics you’d prefer to avoid or handle with care. I’ll then create a master list to help guide the tone and content of our game. While we’re playing, we’ll use the safety word “landmine”. If at any point a scene feels uncomfortable or is heading in a direction that’s not okay for you, just say “landmine” — no questions asked. We’ll pause, adjust, or rewrite the scene to make sure everyone feels safe and respected. The goal is for everyone to have fun without crossing personal boundaries. After each session, I like to use the Stars and Wishes method to keep the campaign aligned with what you enjoy. I’ll ask everyone what they liked most — that’s your Star — and what you’d like to see more of next time — those are your Wishes. It’s a simple way to make sure we’re all having fun and moving the story in a direction that excites you!
