About the adventure
Curse of Strahd is a dark fantasy setting that focuses on the dread and misfortune of the setting. I like to follow my players for how that goes. This is a module i enjoy and have ran a few times and I think what i enjoy most is how differently the same story can be told and played! This could be a dark story. Do you try to bring hope? Do you want to impress Strahd? Disrespect them? Take their place? Do you merely aspire to make it out with your life? I like to lean into the RP and enjoy trying to make The antagonist interesting and flesh out the story every time that i run.

About me
Just some ginger punk—haha, but seriously, I'm a professional DM who's been running games for over 4 years and involved in the TTRPG space for about 6. As a woman in the community, I’m passionate about creating fun, welcoming spaces for players to enjoy great stories and epic adventures. I love what I do, and I'm always striving to make every game memorable.

Creating your character
I like to run a session 0 to talk to players, answer questions, and help you build a character that feels like they fit into the story. I also think its important for managing expectations and for the group to get to know each other and the character concepts being brought into a group! I usually stick to Base rules, but i often allow the FF14 homebrew classes and spells upon request, Laser Lamma classes/subclass, and occasionally a few others. Needless to say im open to homebrew as long as it seems balanced well enough. I usually do level 1 feats, a 27 point buy and base backgrounds.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
have a discord, mic, and a browser to connect to foundry... and maybe a back up because sometimes foundry is wonky
What Ginger brings to the table
i use voices to the best of my ability, i usually use watch together to try to have ambient music going with the game, I use a mixture of effects, light, and walls in foundry to try to help with the ambiance of the game to add to the rp and using parts of maps to add to combat.
Homebrew rules
1:Last Call: Things such as reckless attack, or rage can be applied after knowing about a failed roll . (Bardic and Guidance can be used as a reaction or their normal action economy) 2:Long rest buffs: (Effects spells that will now last until a long rest: Disguise self, Long Strider, Protection from Good and Evil, False Life, Mage Armor, Shield of faith, Speak with Animals, Aid, Barkskin, Detect thoughts, Enhance Ability, flame blade, Magic Weapon, Protection from Poison, Animate Dead, Glyph of Warding, Protection from Energy, Pass without a trace -Hex and Hunters Mark changed to: At 1st level, Hex lasts 1 hour. With a 3rd level slot, it lasts 8 hours, and with a 5th level slot or higher, it can last up to 24 hours 3: Max Critical: The initial dice roll on a crit is maxed 4:Short short rest: 30 minute Short Rest (maybe shorter or even instant if i give some groups a reason, like a magic item) 5: Hero Points: Players have a number of dice they can roll each session, equal to the character's proficiency bonus. These points can be used to reroll Attack Rolls and Ability Checks. 6: Flanking Provides a +2 to attack rolls rather than advantage

How Ginger creates a safe table
i use safety tools as needed with players, I have a handout to ask about player Lines and Veils and there are foundry tools for an X card if needed. I don't currently use them in my paid groups but that is only because i have been playing with them for years now and were all extremely comfortable and sort of aware of one another but i think its important to maintain open communication and give players the tools they need to feel comfortable.
