I've had the pleasure of being a player in Reuben's games for nearly three years, and it's been some of the most fun I've had. From my first full-length campaign playing the naive swamp boy Max to the anarchist artificer Hester and his metal turtle scrap, Reuben has consistently delivered engaging, fun, and fantastic experiences as a DM. His ability to weave intricate stories, bring characters to life, and create a collaborative environment makes every session memorable. Reuben's dedication to his craft and his players is evident in every detail, from the carefully crafted encounters to the imaginative world-building. If you're looking for a DM who brings passion, creativity, and a genuine love for the game, look no further than Reuben.
I've played with Reuben for a little over a year now, and in that time seen two campaigns to completion (with a third one ongoing) and I can say with confidence that I can recommend nobody higher. He comes in with amazing maps and inventive ideas, vibrant worlds and just enough silliness and wonder to offset the very real danger that lurks in them. NPCs come alive and maintain an internal consistency that makes them feel so terribly, brilliantly real. The world stretches on before you as your characters try to navigate it. Reuben is very good at facilitating your vision for your character, both giving you control over and allowing for creativity in creation, concept, and execution of anything you want to try. They will show you things that you didn't even know about your character, and things you want to try will (usually!) pan out, if not always the way you expect. This is the DM that ran the game that produced possibly my favorite character to play in 12 years of DND. I will warn you that they don't pull punches. I walk into most sessions concerned for my life, and spend time away from the table considering potential ramifications. Your actions will have consequences, and the worlds they make are as harsh as they are beautiful, creating a world that invites both impulsive and cautious characters to play from the heart. He has mastered the art of allowing the rule of cool by supplementing character allowances with an uncanny ability to find the razor thin line between total annihilation and what the party can just barely survive, but its this knack for combat balancing that makes combat both thrilling and rewarding. All that said, it *is* worth it. I could and would trust Reuben with any character close to my heart, happily jump into any world he set before me, and I would have faith that every single session will be thrilling, rich, and vibrant until the final session, where I would walk away forever altered by the experience. If you're ready for a challenge, playing with Reuben is genuinely kinda life changing.
Being a new player, Reuben made it so easy for me to start in a campaign alongside more experienced players. He is an incredibly immersive storyteller, fleshing out worlds like he's genuinely lived there in a past life. But not everything is set in stone, as a player I could feel and see my actions impacting the world around my character.

How Reuben creates a safe table
During session 0 we will discuss your individual triggers, and each person is allowed to stop the session at any time when something becomes too much or they become uncomfortable. After each session we discuss whether anything should be added to our collective document of Lines and Veils.
