About the adventure

Welcome to the other side of the law. Due to unfortunate circumstances you find yourself down to your last few coppers. Thankfully a friend of yours knows a guy who knows a guy that can help out talented but impoverished people like yourself. All you have to do is prove yourself first and you're in! This Pathfinder 2e adventure sees your PC's join a thieves guild in the city of Magnimar and rise through the ranks of criminals to become underworld leaders in their own right. Plot points and challenges will include heists, smuggling, spying, fraud, gambling, murder, turf wars, and more. While the urban setting will be the primary focus of the adventure, travel beyond the big city should be expected. Social intrigue, combat, and investigations will play large roles in this adventure. Session Zero will be free.

About me

Maryland-based game master who likes a good balance of combat, puzzles, social play, and more. Game mastering since 2010, including a paid freelance position at Gamers Corps. Mostly running Pathfinder 2e but occasionally Pathfinder 1e, World of Darkness, Fate Core System, and others. Wrote the Spark of Genius RPG, if you're into near-future sci-fi. I primarily run on Roll20 but I'm learning Foundry VTT. I will NEVER use AI in games.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will make level 1 characters together in Session Zero. Standard character creation rules apply. The nature of this adventure means that characters should be comfortable breaking laws, but avoid playing anyone genuinely evil who isn't a team player.

The current party

The party currently consists of: -Doya, human kineticist (wood/water) -Fawks, gnome half-orc barbarian (black dragon instinct) -Joko, wayang psychic (oscillating wave) -Bob, human wizard (universal)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Come with 2-3 character ideas that could fit well in this adventure, a working microphone, Discord account, and basic understanding of how to play Pathfinder 2e.

What Tommy Z brings to the table

Roll20, maps, tokens, music, and a Discord server.

Homebrew rules

Spending a Hero Point gets you the better of your two dice rolls. Opening a normal door can be done as part of moving through it. Counterspelling doesn't require the exact same spell (there's a dice roll and your spell choice will influence this).

Safety

How Tommy Z creates a safe table

We are all here to have fun together playing this Pathfinder 2e adventure. That is the guiding star. Anything that gets in the way of that for anyone will be addressed. In session zero we'll cover Lines & Veils and what we can expect from one another. The nature of this adventure lends itself to sensitive issues, like drugs, violence, crime, and the legal system. While this adventure will be PG-13/R rated, there will be no sexual violence, violence against children, gruesome descriptions of violence, or anything like that.
