The Moon That Watches
Dungeons & Dragons 3/3.5e | Campaign
About the adventure
A dark fantasy campaign for players who love mystery, danger, and saving a world that doesn’t know it’s dying. In a quiet village at the edge of the world, strange things are happening. The dead don’t stay buried. Healers say their magic flickers. And in the night sky, a second moon has appeared—one that no one remembers. It doesn’t move. It doesn’t change. But people swear… it’s watching them. The Moon That Watches is a full Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 campaign that starts with mystery and horror, and builds into an epic battle against ancient forces that threaten the world itself. You'll begin as ordinary adventurers sent to investigate a collapsed ruin—but what you uncover will lead you into lost temples, dream-plagued cities, and a slow, terrifying unraveling of reality. This game is perfect for players who enjoy deep storylines, evolving threats, and the thrill of uncovering secrets piece by piece. Roleplay, exploration, and tactical combat all play major roles—and every choice you make leaves ripples in a world that may not survive what’s coming. You don’t need to know the ending. You just need to look up. And see what’s waiting.
Game style
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Gameplay details
Before we begin the campaign, we’ll have a Session 0 to set expectations, build connections, and make sure everyone’s on the same page. Here’s what we’ll cover: Character creation: We'll build characters together, tie them into the world, and make sure the party feels connected from the start. Tone & themes: I’ll give a preview of the setting and themes (mystery, horror, cosmic dread), so you know what to expect. Lines & Veils: We'll go over a quick safety form to set personal boundaries—private and anonymous if you prefer. Table rules & pacing: How we handle roleplay, rules debates, spotlight time, and leveling up. Scheduling & vibe check: We'll align on session length, play style (serious vs cinematic), and group goals. Session 0 is collaborative, casual, and essential—it’s where your story begins.
