About the adventure
Welcome to Wonderwood, a magical realm where animalfolk live under the blessing of the Three Guardian (or "World Trees") Trees: the Mighty Oak named Oakenheart of Terraveil, the Pine Spire of Aeromore, and the World Willow of Marshwood. These trees grant not only life and wisdom but magic and divine purpose. But dark times came when the Never — a mysterious creeping force — spread across Marshwood, threatening all. A great war was fought, and though the armies returned battered, they claimed victory. The Never has receded… for now. It’s been eight months since peace was restored. The heroes of that war have risen to power, and Wonderwood thrives — until news arrives that the former King of Aeromore has passed away. All are invited to Pinecrest for The Great Soaring, a grand funeral — and perhaps, the beginning of a new adventure. Will you uncover what lurks in the shadows of peace? *** World Notes: Monsters, fiends, and devils all exist in this world—but monsters are the most common and the biggest everyday threat. They roam the wilds, lurk near towns, and challenge adventurers regularly. The Wonderfolk have learned to live with the danger, though it’s never far off. Devils and fiends, on the other hand, are rare—and when they appear, it's a big deal. These encounters are serious events, often requiring the help of special guilds that dedicate themselves to hunting and banishing such powerful foes. The Feywilds are real, too. They exist as a strange and beautiful mirror world, full of magic and mystery. Few can travel there, and fewer still return unchanged. It’s not a place most folk ever see, but its influence touches Wonderwood in small, curious ways. The best way to picture the setting is this: It’s a classic fantasy world—just with woodland creatures instead of traditional races like humans, elves, and halflings. The heart of it is the same: magic, mystery, and adventure. The faces are just a little furrier. *** I am using a combination of resources to create a world full of animal species to play as, including Cats, Dogs, Mice, Rats, Raccoons, Foxes, Sloths, Owls, Chickens, Bears, Bats, Bovine, Sheep, Doves, Ravens, Crows, Frogs, Pigeons, Hawks, Elk, Deer, Turtles, Lizards, Fish, Otters, Moles, Possums, Armadillo, Horses, Donkeys, Rabbits, and more! No, really...there's more! Got another idea? Reach out! I love working with players to create fun, thematic characters. All experiences levels are welcomed!

About me
A long time player and new-ish DM. I have been playing in several campaigns for a long time and have been DMing on the side. The more I DM, the more I am told by my players that I should be doing it more often. Well...I decided to give it a go! A little more about me - I am a native New Yorker by way of Brooklyn. I am married and a dad to two (ages 10 &8). I'm an avid gamer with a deep love for indie gaming specifically, and have three podcasts dedicated to them.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
We will start at level 3 - with your backstories playing into what got you from humble beginning to a budding adventurer. I am pretty open to all classes and combinations. I want you to make a character you WANT to play. My goal is fun. Plain and simple. Once we are all filled up - I will get you in the Roll20 game to start messing with character creation. We will wrap up the sheets during session 0. I will ask for backstories prior to then as well via a character backstory google form.
Adventure in a magical world where brave animal heroes rise against the creeping darkness. Wonderwood blends fairytale charm with epic D&D adventure!”
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I like to see my players if possible, but it is NOT a requirement. Just your voice is totes okay. Also - if you want to roll physical dice, that's okay. I may ask for rolls "in front of the board" for big moments.
