About the adventure
Welcome to Britain and Ireland, of the nineteenth century, as found in the world of Vaesen. In this expansion to the award winning Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying, you will take on the role of an investigator with a rare gift to see the supernatural creatures of superstition, folklore, and legend known as vaesen. You have the Sight and it has gained you entry into a secret society. You have your own reason for tracking down vaesen and taking them on, but bullets and steel won't help you much against them. No, instead, you need to find their weakness to investigate and learn how to deal with a vaesen and protect people from them.

Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
This game is open for players of all backgrounds and skill levels. You will have the option of numerous pre-generated characters to choose from, with the option of making an changes to fit what you have in mind for your investigator! Vaesen is easy to learn and quick to pick up, so trying a new game has never been easier!

How to prepare
As a player, you will need a microphone, decent internet access, and a quiet space in which to play. As this is an investigative game, it's advised to take notes. I will provide a rules reference sheet that you may want to have handy. Join the game Discord, so that we can easily communicate in a central location. The rules of the game will be explained as we play. If you wish to create your own character, please let me know as soon as possible. Otherwise, be sure to look over the pre-generated characters and choose a couple that appeal to you. We will be rolling virtual dice and using the character sheets in the vtt. I will provide a link to the vtt for you to join the game, no need to create an account to access the game.
What I provide
I will bring an immersive setting utilizing the virtual tabletop, Foundry. This will include music, pictures, and maps to help set the scene. Content from the core rule book and the expansion will be available.
Gameplay details
We will go over lines and veils before the game, but basically in all of my games, you can expect to NOT have any type of sexual assault and torture and harm to children or pets will be veiled.

How will character creation work
There will be a variety of pre-generated characters to choose from for this one-shot adventure. If you wish to create your own character, we can do that as well! I can provide the materials and help guide you through the process. It actually is pretty easy! Character discussion/generation will be handled on a private Discord server for the game.
