About the adventure

Imagine a shining city called the Radiant Citadel – a place that has been a safe and peaceful haven for a very long time. But now, a scary darkness called the Keening Gloom is getting closer, and it threatens to swallow the entire Citadel forever! But there's a chance! People have heard rumors and found clues about a very old civilization from the beginning of the world. Could this ancient place still exist? And could it possibly save the Radiant Citadel from the darkness? You and your friends will play as a group of adventurers whose mission is to check out these rumors. You'll travel to different worlds and uncover the truth about this ancient civilization, the Radiant Citadel, and the dangerous Keening Gloom. Think of it as a series of connected stories, with 12 different and exciting locations to explore as you solve this ancient mystery! Even though the stories are like separate episodes, some of them might take more than one game session to fully experience. This gives the story time to unfold and for your adventure to really develop!

Game style

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Additional details

How to prepare

You'll need a working mic, camera is optional. Discord and DnDBeyond accounts needed. Have a decent understanding of the rules, but vast experience is definitely not necessary!

What I provide

I will provide all necessary source material through content sharing on DnDBeyond and a Discord server to play through. We will use DnDBeyond Maps when appropriate and Theater of the Mind otherwise. I lean toward Rule of Cool but firmly planted in what's written as well. The goal is to have fun and tell a story! I will try to include audio/music but I'm still learning to incorporate all of that so bear with me!

Gameplay details

We will go over most content expectations during session 0 and discuss any major potential issues. I will also have a basic questionnaire to fill out about playstyle and such. Open Door policy. If anything comes up during a session, mute/camera off, send me a message, anything at all to get my attention and I will stop the session to address the concern right then.
